  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

“Christians, get out and vote!” yelled Trump. “Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine! You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians!” He added, “You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”

Yep, Trump 2024, vote for me and we will end that whole democracy and peaceful fair transfer of power every 4 years.

The one thing he is honest on is his intention to rig the whole election system.

Thats not what he said. From what I saw on youtube, he has a habit to jump from one thought to another quite freely, not every sentence in his speech is tightly related to the other.

Thats not how it works. Only he can explain what he meant.
When a candidate promises that if you vote for him you need never vote again in another election, you need to check whether they are another 4th rate charlie Chaplin impersonator.

The implications is chilling.

What was that he said @0:18?
Sounds like "I am not Christian", but in these kinds of public emotional unprepared speeches its common to make many slips of tongue, so I would not build much on it.

Such things are easy to clarify in a calm interview, written speech or something similar.

What's do you think the most charitable interpretation of his comment would be?

That you will have as much electoral choice as in Russia.
Is that really the most charitable though? I'd rather see his comment deconstructed in the best possible light. Lest accusations of TDS are thrown about by the usual suspects.
I could argue that all he meant was that during his second term he'll implement policies that not only his christian hangers-on will love but which can't be simply be undone by the next president. None of this executive order temporary stopgap half-assing that marked so much of his first term.

If none of the Christians vote "anymore" in 2028 how could Trump still win? (assuming he's allowed to serve a third term) What did he mean by "fixed"?

If he loses he's not going to be on the ticket in 2028 that's for sure. His loss in this election will mark the end of Trumpism in American politics. It'll be a clear signal to the RNC to change course.
Fixed can mean a lot of things. Doesn't have to be in an illegal context.

I did a double take and replayed that part. It did sound like he said "I'm not a Chrisitan". I doubt he meant to say that but I also doubt many of his fans would care. They've already built a king Cyrus narrative around him.
Even if he meant that, I would still see why many American Christians would not care - if he seems to share similar values as they do, its still enough for a political vote.

However, I do not think he meant that, considering his other tries to make him look Christian (like posing with a Bible, praying and similar). I would say he at least identifies as a cultural Christian, if not more.

Looks like we'll have to wait until Trump explains it.

Assuming he wins, what does he mean that Christians won't need to "vote anymore" or "vote again" in four years? Do you seriously think he can win again in four years if Christians don't "vote anymore" or "vote again"? His justification for not needing any Christians to vote is that things will be "fixed". (Project 2025 and Agenda 47 talk about the President getting far more powerful) It seems you're not basing this on a common sense interpretation but that Trump must be in a good light at all costs.

Or see what he actually does because he isn't necessarily always being completely honest in what he says. I mean maybe those court cases were due to some kind of dishonesty.

BTW why would Trump give many people the overwhelming impression that he wants to stop normal voting? If that is his plan then this is testing the waters. If he wants democracy to continue as normal then it achieves nothing except hurt his popularity for many people (mainly non-Christians).
I thought that this would shock Christians but it seems they are onboard and assume that whatever it means is fine and moral, etc.
