It basically means acting like an animal. Having sex with multiple partners. In the Bible marriage was for life. This is best for the kids when the mom and dad stay together and do not divorce. The kids turn out better, they get a better education and a better job and do more to help their parents in their old age. But for some reason people want to divorce and make a mess out of things. The kids have to decide do they want to live with daddy and his new girl friend or mommy and her new husband. Sometimes they feel abandoned like neither parent cares about them.
In the west civilization began in Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates river. In China The Yellow River Valley, also known as the Huang He Valley, is considered the birthplace of ancient Chinese civilization. The valley is home to northern China's main river and is at the center of thousands of years of Chinese history. The areas around China's second-longest river were also home to the oldest dynasties of ancient China.
As we all know the food in the middle east is different from the food they eat in China. We mostly eat wheat and china mostly eats rice.
I don't know why you'd cut n paste something
totally irrelevant about China as if I don't know it
or about the " fertile creacent" ftm.
But since you mention China. I will add to it
and say we have a far more complex and
sophisticated understanding of human nature
than in Christian teachings- like that God made
us with a bad nature but commands us to be
something else ...which is, frankly, just weird.
"Sex...like animals" doesn't make sense as an Issue either.
We are animals.
Some other animals are quite promiscuous, some mate for life. Way more " moral" than people.
Or dolphins.
Also we are very aware of great differences in human societies. Western society is very mixed up, and.yes, many people don't take marriage seriously. Divorces are messy and often disasterous. That's your collective choice. Not some " flesh" prob.
Other societies deal with human nature in far more humane ways, with far better outcomes.
As anyone with some knowledge of cultures around the world well knows.
Western society × Bible rules ( those few Christians choose to try to follow) doesn't work very well.
That's not the fault of human nature.
And as to the "overcome" part, yes. Agreement!
There is much to " overcome" though we see it as
coontrilling and using human nature , not trying to force it out.
For example
Laziness and industry are ends of a continuum in
human nature. Take control!
We are taught self discipline, putting into practice
the principle of " as twig is bent so the tree is inclined".
If we were to think of failures of self discipline as a
"Sin" it might be summarized as " self indulgence is the father of all evil". Indulging in harmful temptations, knowing its wrong, but doing it anywy!
No priest declaring forgiveness is going to cure the
harm.
Does it not seem weird to you that " god" would make you one way then demand you be something else?
