  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it ok for a candidate to talk about conspiracy theories or should they stick to the facts and what has been proven?

What are the rules on here about conspiracy theories? Are they open for discussion?

We should question things .... nothing wrong with that at all .... because some do they often call it conspiracy theory ... ideas about what might have or have not actually occurred is a process of putting forth of ideas or possibilities .... it's a process in attempting to find the truth until all the "facts" are determined ... and even so .... many times that isn't iron clad ... often we don't have all the facts. What we do know .... people flat out lie and are deceptive ... so no wonder we question most everything ... sometimes it takes a while for truth to be known ... sometimes it's never known. We should use critical thinking rather than emotional thinking ...

In many ways, logic is better than emotion. The more you can think critically and objectively about a decision before you make it, the more likely the decision will be the best for you. The less you are driven only by emotion and instinct, the fewer impulsive or irrational decisions you should make.
