  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That Roy Ayers album alone just secured her the black vote.

I’m only joking but honestly some pretty good picks. Operation Humanize Kamala has begun.
I see it as more white people who are into old soul and jazz on average. But I dont really know this

Also this vid is from May 2023. But yes the humanizing cannot come too soon.

Roy Ayers is a classic in the black community and the flow is good. It was a nice song to skate to back in the day and a popular one with steppers.

Good music is good music but he’s definitely big with the older more middle aged black folks and is how I came to know a bunch of old jazz and soul from some relatives.

She at least is starting off a little better than Hillary. We may still get another Pokémon go to the polls moment but without all the other baggage Hillary was carrying it probably won’t grate as much.

I'm pretty convinced that Harris will have her own "basket of deplorables" moment at some point. There's still 105 days of roller coaster to ride before the election.

I think what hurt Hillary the most was the appearance of possible criminality. Not even a conviction or trial, just the possibility that she might be a criminal was seemingly too much for most voters in 2016.

I think there were a lot of things that hurt Clinton in 2016. This was certainly one of them.

It will be interesting to watch how Democrats attempt to ingratiate Harris to the masses. There's no doubt that Democrats will rush to her side, with or without PR events and purchasing jazz records, but they have a tall task in convincing independents, as do the Republicans with Trump.

I was always bothered by the "who would you most like to have a beer with" test. In as much as its reality, It speaks to the insecurity and fragility of Americans who cant venture to imagine that someone different than themselves could be trusted to lead.

It was a photo op. What do you think it was for?
Doesnt matter. She dug her elitist hole and kept digging. Now shes got to fix this and climb out. Hows this going to look to normal Americans?

On the assumption that it would have been a close run thing with Biden v Trump, I really can't see that swapping Harris for Biden would lose any Democrat votes. But it would certainly add some (even if, at the moment, it's just vinyl loving jazz aficionados). And the comparison between her public appearances and Biden's is going to be huge. And similarly stark will be her competence at a microphone v Trump's.

I'll bet you any money at all that Trump will not debate her before the election.
