How do you politely turn away a Jehovah Witness at your door?

Do we have to earn salvation
We earn rewards or what they call crowns. Then we throw those crowns at the feet of Jesus because we are not worthy.

Revelation 4 19And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the One seated on the throne who lives forever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before the One seated on the throne, and they worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11“Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things; by Your will they exist and came to be.”

I read the JW bible, they altered it quite a bit to fit their agenda. From what I understand, the Mormons do too.
The Mormons use the KJV, but explain their interpretation and totally ignore certain verses, as well as adding "scripture" written by Joseph Smith.

Are you Trinitarian? Are there only 24 elders who get crowns?

The word for crown is stephanos. Stephen called the Sanhedrin: "stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears!" They dragged him out of the city and stoned him. Meanwhile the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. This is why The apostle Paul referred to himself as the “chief of sinners.” In 1 Timothy 1:15

Do you want to suggest that the 24 elders are the only ones to put their crowns at the feet of Jesus. I think that is more symbolic. Jesus wore a crown of thorns for us. We read that gray hair is a crown. My wife dies her hair so they can not see how gray it is. I am proud of my salt and pepper gray because I earned every one of them. 1 Timothy 4 talks about a "Crown of Righteousness". Do you think Paul is the only one to receive that. He persecuted Stephen and yet he will receive a crown himself? This is why the elders do not feel worthy and they place their crown at the feet of Jesus who wore a crown of thorns for us. When we can see on the head cover that went with the Shroud of Turin.

The Bible is written for us as an example to follow WE are to follow the example of the people we read about in our Bible. I attended a church were the goal was to live up to their standard and to be as they were. Of course we are not the 24 elders but we do receive crown or rewards.

This is another one of those subjects that even if we were to write a whole book on the crowns we receive, we would still only be getting started in our understanding.

Unfortunately, in my experience, the JW's are very persistent. The Mormons will walk away if you ask politely and stay away, but the JWs won't. Last time they came by they were especially pushy. They started in on their spiel, I said we were Baptist and not interested. They started in again. I said, we are not interested. Please go." They kept on. I told the , "Get off my property." They started in again! I stopped them, and asked, "you know that verse in the Bible that talks about the wolf in sheep's clothing?" They nodded. "That's you guys. GET. OFF. MY. PROPERTY." They left and I didn't see anpther one come by my house for 5 years, and that one jus t saw me ut by my car and asked for directions to somewhere else. I honestly felt after 3 times asking politely, the need to be polite was past.

I don't know how they ended up getting my address in their "book" of places to go, but they're at my door at least once a month. They are so pushy. If you show them any attention at all (even to say 'no') they come back. Glad you were finally able to get them to leave you alone.

Perhaps they aren't really trained. All Mormon missionaries have the same training as other Mormon missionaries. And if they see a "No Soliciting" sign they are supposed to leave.

OTOH, a salesman tried to bother me about purchasing a new roof. I showed him my sign and he said, "I'm not soliciting." I felt angry, but just maybe he didn't know the definition.

I then told him, "I'm not getting a new roof!" He left.

Jehovah Witnesses have been knocking on my door. I was hoping there was a polite way to turn them away. I don't want to get into a debate with them, but I want them to understand that I have no desire to study their bible.
You can answer the door butt naked that should scare them off.

In all seriousness, I'm surprised they knocked on your door. They stopped knocking on doors a while ago. You can either tell them to put you on a do not call list. or ignore their knocks.

Lol. My late atheist friend would say the same thing.

Some say LDS or JW are sharing a message, and not actually soliciting.

They put the door knocking on hold for several years during and after covid, but recently restarted it. I have seen a definite uptick over the last year in the amount of the literature kiosks around as well.

We had one send us a letter several years ago when I was living in my hometown. I never had anyone actually knock on my door and I live in a small city.

What I've been doing lately is ignoring their knock. They're out on the street corner too, but I don't have to walk anywhere so I can avoid them.

Yeah, I literally never answer the door for anyone that I don't know or are not expecting. The ones on the corner never bother me at all, they don't engage, they are just putting in their hours (quite literally) for the meeting house leger.

Kindly share the one and only true gospel with them, reinforcing your belief that Jesus is God in the flesh who left His rightful place in heaven to reconcile mankind to Himself. They will not agree with you that Jesus is God, and will show you their Bible wherein it says in John 1 that Jesus was "a god", not God with a capital G. Stand firm in your belief and offer scripture that clearly shows Jesus is God - Old and New Testament.

The Kiosk, yes, but the actual door-to-door seems to be on hold.

I guess it depends on your area, they have been going around my neighborhood intermittently for a few months.
