Tucker Carlson believes the attempted assassination of Donald Trump is evidence of an ongoing "spiritual battle" in the United States. Speaking at a Heritage Foundation event at the Republican National Convention, Carlson shared his view that "deeper" forces, like evil, are behind attacks like the one that occurred at Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. "I think what happened on Saturday — the assassination attempt against President Trump — reminded a lot of people of this or awakened a lot of people to this," Carlson said on Monday.
"There is a spiritual battle under way," he added. "There is no logical way to understand what we're seeing now in temporal terms. You just can't. These are not political divides. There are forces — and they're very obvious now; they've decided, for whatever reason, to take off the mask — whose only goal is chaos, violence, destruction."

According to Carlson, the forces that he identified are "dedicated to the destruction of people," and he believes they have a common enemy: Christians.

Even though I do not like Tucker Carlson that much, we do have a spiritual enemy invading our culture in the 2020s. The intro to the RNC had a woman pray to a false god. The Democrats worship abortion and LGTV stuff and some even worship Hamas. The Canadians worship euthanasia, while the Hollywood stars worship themselves. In other words, society is becoming apostate.

Come back Jesus, cos we need you.

Does anyone know what Tucker is talking about? He is usually coherent, but I can't make out his meanings this time.
Tucker Carlson believes the attempted assassination of Donald Trump is evidence of an ongoing "spiritual battle" in the United States.
It's about religion? I don't think we know anything of the shooter's motives and Trump is notoriously indifferent to religion personally.
Speaking at a Heritage Foundation event at the Republican National Convention, Carlson shared his view that "deeper" forces, like evil, are behind attacks like the one that occurred at Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Tucker "evil" is not a force. It is the label for the things we find morally repugnant. "Evil" can't make someone shoot at someone else, but the act can be called "evil". We also have no information that anyone but the shooter himself was "behind" the attack.
"I think what happened on Saturday — the assassination attempt against President Trump — reminded a lot of people of this or awakened a lot of people to this," Carlson said on Monday.

How is this a spiritual battle? What religious do you think are facing off with each other, Tucker?
"There is no logical way to understand what we're seeing now in temporal terms. You just can't.
"Temporal terms". It's real hard to avoid the flow of time in events, Tucker. Make some sense, man.
These are not political divides. There are forces — and they're very obvious now; they've decided, for whatever reason, to take off the mask — whose only goal is chaos, violence, destruction."
Since he's clearly not talking about the physical forces, he must be talking about some groups (political groups, cultural groups, foreign governments), but he only talks in the vague. Very few of such groups exist. Some "accellerationists (like the boogaloo boys) and foreign governments. (Russia, China, Iran have all tried to stir things up here.) He is too vague here.
According to Carlson, the forces that he identified are "dedicated to the destruction of people," and he believes they have a common enemy: Christians.
Is this some sort of paranoia?

Vagueness isn't always indicative of uncertainty. He may be privy to information he's unable to acknowledge openly. In light of his position that isn't a stretch and hinting is the wisest response.

He's going down rabbit holes lately, I don't watch him anymore because of it but he's not wrong here.

It's just the Christian belief that we battle not against flesh and blood but against the Spiritual realm. (Ephesians 6:12 for reference)

Christians right now, probably universally at this point believe that what is happening in our country today is due to heavily increased activity in the spiritual realm working in our nation.

Something is definitely happening spiritually, and as Christians we are called to fast and pray (with repentance) in order to defeat or otherwise overcome this enemy.

This is simply a call reminding God's people of our real enemies, it's not a 20 year old kid or a demented old man, it's spiritual. It requires a different approach to overcome. Namely, prayer.

I think he needs to take the mask off of what he's trying to say. Understand in temporal terms? What? When something sounds like gibberish it's not worth trying to figure out.

Oh. Thanks. I didn't think of that. I probably would have thought of it even when I was a Christian.

I still have to say that I find this sort of thinking odd. Back in the day, we were a very practical people of faith. We knew that we needed to do the work to solve our own problems. There was time to pray for help, but the hard work to be done was not prayer but whatever was needed to be done here on Earth. I really hope things haven't changed that much.

I am not confused with anything that Tucker Carlson said. As a Christian, Carlson is saying that evil is, and has been, attacking Christianity and anyone who wants to do good works for the Lord.

Tucker is describing a spiritual battle, something that an atheist wouldn’t believe in or understand.

But Tucker is a renowned fabricator of nonplussed inexactitude.

Has he said how Christianity is being attacked?

Has he said how Christianity is being attacked?
Maybe hes referring to how people are packaging the Bible with strictly worldly documents?

Tucker is describing a spiritual battle, something that an atheist wouldn’t believe in or understand.
It depends what we mean by "spiritual". If it is simply a name we give to values, then even atheists have a claim. But if it extends into a transcendent realm that is represented by those values, that is another story.

There are two levels of disagreement. One has to do with what programs or policies are really in the public best interest.
The second is more subtle and deals with how we feel about each other and treat each other as we try to work it all out.
The second is where we fail and Satan loves it. Nothing pleases him more than to see us tear each other apart, dehumanize each other , never listen and always fight with animosity and scorn. The real spiritual battle is within ourselves.

That may be, but all I actually see is Christian nationalists corrupting the Gospel of Christ.

We're getting a taste of just how bad the bible said it would get before his return. The stuff going on today would have been unimaginable just a couple of decades ago. Of course, that's what Jews in Auschwitz were saying, except for them it was "a few years".

It's amazing how easy it can be to convince a mob of all sorts of things once you convince them they are "victims" of this or that.
