On that we agree. I've also seen reports that Trump was struck from shards from the teleprompter screen. Or it could have been a bullet. There has, to my knowledge, no official report released to date stating how the the former POTUS was injured.
I also read that, but it appears to be false. It was believed to be either a bullet or a piece of the bullet. It doesn't really matter as it was still a failed assassination.

The actual bullet caught by a NYT photographer. (Doug Mills, a veteran photographer for The New York Times)
View attachment 351636

Yes. One can't tell how close that bullet is to Trump. It could have been a foot, 6" or 1".
It is an amazing photo capture.
The Times quoted an retired FBI agent remarking on the bullet's angle and how unusual that a photographer was able to capture this image who apparently was shooting at 1/8,000 of a second shutter speed:

“The angle seems a bit low to have passed through his ear, but not impossible if the gunman fired multiple rounds.”

“If the gunman was firing an AR-15-style rifle, the .223-caliber or 5.56-millimeter bullets they use travel at roughly 3,200 feet per second when they leave the weapon’s muzzle,’’ Mr. Harrigan said. “And with a 1/8,000th of a second shutter speed, this would allow the bullet to travel approximately four-tenths of a foot while the shutter is open.”

“Most cameras used to capture images of bullets in flight are using extremely high speed specialty cameras not normally utilized for regular photography, so catching a bullet on a side trajectory as seen in that photo would be a one in a million shot and nearly impossible to catch even if one knew the bullet was coming,” he said.

I do believe that God did save Donald Trump on Saturday... now the question to why, I personally don't know. I do have speculations as to why, such as God understood the importance behind the country and he decided to intervene on our behalf... again, that is just speculation... and why God chose to save Trump's life and not the life of the fire chief, I don't know why that happened... I have always echoed what scripture says about God's thoughts and his ways, his ways are higher than ours, and his thoughts are higher than ours...

I don't think we're actually going to know why certain things happen the way they did until Jesus returns.

This attempted assassination could not have been closer. Another inch and Trump would have been dead. That smacks of Divine Providence but why would God save Trump?

He seems such a divisive figure somebody who would break the current world order jeopardizing the freedoms of countries all over the world. Ukraine and Taiwan are two examples. He is a proven liar, adulterer and fraudster so he has not earned any special grace, so why save the man? What does God want to do here?

Why would the Sovereign Lord permit Trump to survive?
God obviously loves Trump more than he loves firemen.

(apologies if anybody beat me to that comment; I didn’t read the whole thread)

Or could it be adequately explained by poor accuracy?
Seems the missed shot wasn't about accuracy, but about a perfectly split-second-timed move on the part of the victim.

Looks like Providence to me (as is everything else on earth).

You go down the route of questioning your own beliefs, and you'll lose friends and family in certain parts of the country. Some churches are more doctrinaire than the 19th century Ultramontanists, and there are thousands of them.
O yes. There is always the risk. And that is especially so when theology is welded to political view.

And yet, God revealed Himself in the person of Jesus, a man without sin who told us to love even the least of his people and to turn the other cheek. It really disturbs me when people cloak their unchristian politics in a "Christian" façade.

Securing the boarder is a legitimate issue. Dehumanizing refugees is evil.

Maybe it’s you that puts them on defense.

You do not understand. The Trump supporters in my family are not comfortable conversing about the man they adore. Except when they yuk it up with people who do not challenge their viewpoint. They go in their own rooms to hide from people in the real world who might point out uncomfortable truths for them to confront. And none of these Trump supporters can contain themselves in their zealous defense of the man. They isolate themselves in solitude so they can commiserate with each other in the trouble free environs of their own echo chambers- truth social, telegram etc. I mean these relatives leave the room at the mention of the name Donald or Trump, regardless of who says the name. I think it's shame that forces these Trump supporting relatives out of view of loved ones. It seems embarrassing to me how they act and I think they are ashamed and embarrassed that they cannot control their emotions and behavior at the mention of Trump. They recognize their dysfunction but dare not stop imbibing their addiction to the Trump movement.

I felt the same about my own alcoholism right before getting sober. I finally realized the bad effects far outweighed the benefits to my drinking. I was embarrassed too, yet powerless to change without the tools I needed. I pray my family members can find inspiration and tools to be happy again. They're all very disagreeable and pessimistic people since they began prioritizing maga over everything else. Even while Donald was in office.

I understand your appeal to my humility (from the cheap seats lol) in your blaming me for the inadequacies of my own family members. But I am not to blame for anyone's behavior except mine. I often bring out passionate responses in people because that is my goal usually. I find people don't have the attention span to listen so I've found other ways to get the point into their realm of consciousness. I can't just calmly tell people things they don't like to hear. I have to make it loud and clear sometimes.

Because nobody enjoys criticism like I do lol. People are afraid to give me criticism or constructive feedback. I crave it now because it took me years upon years to fully understand my view of myself doesn't match the views others have. And all the males on dad's side of the family have some kind of intimidation factor that makes everyone hesitant to be honest with us. I now recognize many faults I have with years of self inventory research. I know I am somewhat brash, arrogant (I used to call it confidence), condescending, hypocritical, insensitive, offensive and selfish. It's tough work trying to mitigate these faults and overcome. Yet it might have been more difficult to figure these faults out on my own, without much help from peers. I think it's a reason I respect your feedback on these forums. You seem honest and strong enough to challenge me to evaluate my own proclivities. I appreciate that from people, even though it can occasionally annoy me. Like your comment did at first. Oh yeah, sometimes I also write too much in replies on the forum too.

Luke 13:1-5

Now at the same time some were present, telling Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And answering, He said to them, “Do you think that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans, because they have suffered such things? No, I say to you; but unless you repent, you will all perish likewise. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: Do you think that these were debtors beyond all the men dwelling in Jerusalem? No, I say to you; but unless you repent, you will all perish likewise.”

We should not assume that because these eighteen suffered this fate they were more wicked than others. Who has the arrogance to tell us why GOD did or didn't do something to someone else?

Consider that they prefer not to talk about Trump with people that are dead set against him so they avoid the subject. They just don’t want to argue about it. I know people who hate Trump so I never bring him up around them. I do my arguing anonymously on the forums. I usually only discuss Trump with people who support him and I am more critical of him but careful not to offend them. It’s more important for me to get along and socialize and work with people than to proselytize my particular political views.
Sure people avoid talking about him, not out of shame but to avoid arguing, being berated and just avoiding a conversation that makes them uncomfortable.
Of course they talk amongst themselves, it’s like a safe space.
Get ready to find peace about this because Trump now has a good chance of being the next president.

In order for this to be divine providence that would also mean that you think the people who were hurt or killed deserved the bullet that Trump didn’t… And that’s not how it works.

A family member outed themselves to us as a Trump conspiracy theorist/Qanon on July 4th. That was interesting. Then, after the dust settled, we handed everybody fireworks.

I could care less about what Joe Biden, or Donald Trump, or whoever gets into the position of ultimate headship/leadership in this country wants to do at this point, but only because I am so, so, very much more worried about something else, etc.

And that is that, with all the drastic and extreme and severe changes someone like Donald Trump wants to make, I'm wanting to get all my prepping fully done right the heck now, which I don't have fully done right now, and get all my supplies ready/in order, because I am very, very, very much "worried", etc. I fully think and am 100% fully convinced that he could collapse this nation or this country, or could very, very easily cause what us peppers call SHTF, or could collapse the economy, etc. So, as long as he, or any other leader of our nation doesn't do that right now, then I'm good with everything else and with "whatever/whomever" right now, etc.

Because I think Trump has a much, much, much more serious chance "by far" than anyone else at totally collapsing/destroying this nation and the American economy, etc. I know that's not his heart, but I still think he has a much, much better chance at causing it than anybody, etc.

Now if he could give me some kind of very, very solid reassurances that he's not ever going to do that, then, heck, I might even vote for him maybe, but as it stands right now, I think he has more of a chance at causing SHTF in this country than maybe any other leader we've had, or ever could/can have, etc, and it's got me "way, way, way" "beyond worried", etc.

I care about some other things, but don't at all care about any other things compared to this, etc.

And I think he could very well cause what I've been trying to prepare for for years now very, very easily, etc. Easier than anyone else in history, etc.

"Worried" doesn't even begin to describe it, or do it justice, etc.

And it's just only because of what I think he could easily do to the economy alone, etc.

The rest pales in comparison, etc.

And I hope the rest of you can see that, etc.

And again, I know for 100% sure that is most definitely not his heart, etc. His heart is very, very good towards this country I think. But I still think he has a much, much better chance at causing it than maybe anyone else in history, and maybe "ever" maybe, etc.

It's got me worried.

God Bless.

Yeah, sounds like fun. We do stuff like that together too. I just wish they weren't so secretive and could handle the social responsibilities that come along with political views and disagreements. These relatives hide their alcohol consumption and other stuff too, so we are definitely as dysfunctional as they come lol. Cops would arrest us if we let fireworks off where my family lives tho. But they can ride up and down the streets with a big old F... Joe Biden flag on their pickup. Great place to raise children. It took me till age 16 to become a decent alcoholic :).
