The " list of 1000 yec scientidts" doesn't have much in
the way of people who work in fields related to evolution. People do value their integrity.
And when it comes to lists, consider this counter example described in wikipedia:
The Discovery Institute announced that over 700 scientists had expressed support for intelligent design as of February 8, 2007. This prompted the National Center for Science Education to produce a "light-hearted" petition called "Project Steve" in support of evolution. Only scientists named "Steve" or some variation (such as Stephen, Stephanie, and Stefan) are eligible to sign the petition. It is intended to be a "tongue-in-cheek parody" of the lists of alleged "scientists" supposedly supporting creationist principles that creationist organizations produce. The petition demonstrates that there are more scientists who accept evolution with a name like "Steve" alone (over 1370) than there are in total who support intelligent design. This is, again, why the percentage of scientists who support evolution has been estimated by Brian Alters to be about 99.9 percent.

From memory the Steves also had to work in biological sciences in some way, not simply be scientists.

The "Steve" I know that I thought was on the list (checked, he is) is an astrophysicist. (Another field the creationists attack) There is no "biology restriction."

There are scientists who stoutly maintained tobacco
is harmless.

For a long time, physicians were the authority on health. Patients trusted in their doctors' education and expertise and, for the most part, followed their advice. When health concerns about cigarettes began to receive public attention in the 1930s, tobacco companies took preemptive action. They capitalized on the public’s trust of physicians in order to quell concerns about the dangers of smoking. Thus was born the use of physicians in cigarette advertisements.

Intelligent Design: The Bridge Between Science and Theology is a book written by mathematician William A. Dembski. In this work, Dembski explores the concept of intelligent design from historical, philosophical, and theological perspectives. The book addresses concerns about its merits, challenges naturalistic evolutionary theories, and reinstates design within science. It provides a crucial link between science and theology, emphasizing how intelligent design can be understood as a theory of information1. If you’re interested in exploring this topic further, I recommend checking out Dembski’s insightful work!

On December 20, 2005 a federal judge ruled unconstitutional an attempt by the Dover Area School Board in Dover, PA to amend the high school biology curriculum to raise doubts about the theory of evolution and offer Intelligent Design as an alternative. The judge further concluded that Intelligent Design “is not science.”

Things like this are designed to sell more books so the author can put more money in his pocket.

@Ace777 . Please correct yout post #1,430.

I did not write the words "over 700 scientists had expressed support for intelligent design". That is an incorrect and potentially misleading attribution. I specifically quoted those words, making it clear that it was a quotation in four ways:
  1. Introducing the passage containing those words in such a way as to make explain they were not my words.
  2. Placing the entire passage in italics.
  3. Identifying the source of the passage.
  4. Providing a link to that source.
Once you have edited the post accordingly we can discuss its contents. Thank you.

As soon as the astrologers, homeopaths,
I.D. claimants, and psychics can show us data they
will gain credibility.

Did all 700 of them write a review?

We don't need any links to theology. We're doing just fine without it.

Is that why a thread on simple moonlight now has 1435 posts in it?

Most people do like to avoid creation science books. I suppose AV would consider creation and science to be an oxymoron.

They have nothing to offer. Theology is not needed in science, nor welcome.

Most books have very little to offer. You go on a journey with the author in his attempt to understand something but they usually fail in their attempt.
I had to check what this was possibly about before responding...

"Creation science" books (including Demski's) have nothing to offer. They peddle religiously based pseudoscience and are not worth reading.
