  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not a joke - u turn signs removed

At first glance, the signs are innocuous, simply directing traffic on the road. But longtime queer residents of Silver Lake knew they were a symbol of the neighborhood’s darker past.

Is 2024 becoming the Onion or Babylon Bee? The "No U-turn" signs are pretty harmless.

2024 is a weird year, not liking where things are going. Signs are not phobic.

We should petition to place twice as many "No U-turn" signs on the Silver Lake Street, as payback for the LGTV movement for removing the signs.

What has the world come to in 2024?

They wanted the sign down so they could cruise for hook-ups easier.
That is kinda gross. Gives a new meaning to the automotive mechanical engineering term, TRANSmission failure. It is messed up how gay folks would waste time to slowly cruise around a neighborhood, and who knows the ages of young guys some may creep on. As a celibate bi guy, the woke LGTV agenda has got to end. For myself, I will remain single and celibate until marriage to a wife, and I will definitely not cruise any roads to pick up anyone (in fact, I do not drive due to mental faculty issues with ADHD).

To put up signs for just them, it had to be pretty bad.

I know in Pittsburgh there was a 'place' for hook ups and 5 thumbs down.
Not only did it promote obscene situations but it also became a pretty violent area.

That sounds scary. Glad I do not live in Pittsburgh. Seems that large cities tend to lean far-left. That is why small to medium towns are better in my opinion, as those cities are a bit more centrist.

It was the opposite for me: Grew up in a small town of 10,000-15,000, and then moved to a city of 250,000 in 2016. Me personally, I'd rather be in a smallish city of 50,000 people, 30K at the minimum.

I think where I raised my kids the population was 200 people. And of course other small towns surrounding that area 48,000 in the entire county.

The city is 300,000 now and it shrank tbh.

Wow, that is a lot of people, the 300,000 sized city. And 200 people is a bit too few. Which city were these two towns?

Technically, yes, but just a lot of road between here and there. Anyways, it is getting late here, so God bless.

More western Pa

9 hr 18 min

Not even half a day.
Nice. I just chose the center of PA for the map, but 9 hours seems more realistic, going 70-80 mph. :) But hey, it was a lovely conversation we had. It is 12 midnight here now.

Haha, good one. Yes, Wisconsin has a lot of cheese varieties. Almost too man, as I get choice paralysis (can not find the right cheese).

Cheddars are usually good. Sharp. I want some flavors...
But yeah I like most but there a few exceptions.
I sincerely tried to like Munster and Swiss. It's just too... difficult.

Swiss cheese is not good IMHO. Cheddar is the best, same with a few other varieties I do not remember. Anyways, I hope you have a good night.
