I find such songs praising political leaders (especially current ones) disturbing. Makes me thing of the song The East is Red praising Mao during the Cultural Revolution or Iran's song Hello Commander (however, it is more dedicated to the "12th Imam" or "Mahdi" rather than a current leader).

I see no reason to 'hero worship' any leader. They are Humans and prone to the evils/faults/sins like every other Human. I saw some of that hero worship directed at President Obama and I am seeing similar hero worship being directed at President Trump. I found both very disturbing.

Please note that I an NOT accusing anyone here of 'hero worship' of any candidate.

I did not watch the video. I do not like the title of the video. I will vote for Trump - but the Lord Jesus Christ is the Chosen One.

We should only worship the Father in the name of Christ.

Surely you do not believe they all died from drowning - some died from exposure. Where exactly on the ship was their cabin and when they came off the ship, was it voluntarily or by accident? What do you actually know?

Does someone leading children in a song about Obama justify a worship song about how Donald Trump is a messianic figure?

How about this, I don't like the idea of a teacher leading school children to sing about a president. I think the song is cringey, inappropriate, and I'd have some serious things to discuss with the teacher(s) at the school my kids attended. It doesn't matter who the president is, it's weird and inappropriate.

Now for the topic at hand: Is it okay to write a song about Donald Trump calling him "The Chosen One"? Are you defending this?

It is not a worship song but rather a kind of declaration. My only concern is that if he is indeed the "chosen one" what is it for? Boaz was a chosen one in the genealogy of Jesus. He died just a few days after his marriage to Ruth. I just hope Trump is not chosen for a time of judgment.

Nope - I am not defending it - just pointing out it is not the first time a President was elevated to savior status by his political party. Since I am a supporter of free speech - yes, it is ok to write a song about anyone or anything.

Exactly. The point is we don’t know if they’re democrats or republicans or dead or transgender or whatever so why did you label them as “the democrats”?

That makes it sound like “the Democrats” as in, the Democratic Party had children singing praises to Obama almost as a matter of policy, but all we have is this clip of some random people who might not even be democrats at all.

Seems unnecessarily partisan and not to mention a distraction from the actual topic of the thread to me.
