Joe isn’t tasked with “saving the republic” though, all he need do is hold the office and faithfully fulfill his Oath of Office.

When you said,

“Trump's going to save the republic the dems and libs are taking down the drain.“,

it sounded to me as if you think that instead of having slightly differing public policies, the Democratic Party is dismantling our system of governance.
It’s just the usual politics that we’ve had for about 18 years (but ginned up to 11 for far too long), and I understand your further comments

“For some reason everything being unaffordable, rampant crime, rampant homelessness, rampant drug addiction, and all the weird stuff aimed at little kids etc just isn't appealing to us any longer.”,

as being evidence that you’re tired of it all, but the Presidency doesn’t have King-like powers to affect affordability, the economy is chugging along at a nice pace, if things ”cost too much” then maybe we’re not paying ourselves enough?

As for the three “rampants”, yeah they were problems under Trump I too, what did he do to combat these ?
Oh yeah, he put Jared in charge of “the opioid problem“. Pfft.

The “weird stuff aimed at little kids” probably isn!t addressable from the Oval Office, the government can affect the society but it is not in control of the society…and should not be unless you’d like to live in a country that dictates what is “acceptable (or not)”?
What we need is a shift to conservatism away from woke liberalism, and Trump in office will help steer us in that direction.

Also it's pretty funny to hear all the ways that Trump is going to radically alter the republic and lay waste to democracy etc... yet there's nothing he (or Biden) can really do about much of anything. It's like make up your minds libs. The same goes with republicans are all wealthy... yet they're all trailer trash.

Tell us everything you know about the number 3 man at DOJ leaving that job for a career backslide to assist in the prosecution of Trump. Smells like a rat to me but I’m am sure you can perfectly justify and explain. You have the floor.
The very best lawyers will often leave a cushy job to work on cases that they want to work on.
Unless #3 didn’t first resign his cushy job, (at which point I’d come over to your side).

How about we listen to what Todd Blanche has to say about the trial:

Of course he disagrees with the verdict. He lost.

But he doesn't claim he wasn't involved in jury selection, which is what Dershowitz claimed. In fact, he discusses jury selection in that clip, so that's more proof that Dershowitz' claim is false.

I did. I even posted an excerpt where Todd Blanche himself specifically writes about how he, along with the court and the prosecution, conferred on a questionnaire that was used to select the jury, a questionnaire that Blanche himself says was "broad and exhaustive." The letter itself goes into more detail, including the questionnaire itself.

I posted the link. If you can't be bothered to read it, I can't help you.

-- A2SG, gotta meet me partway, dude.....
I'm pretty sure by your own admission you didn't read the whole thing. Partway sounds about right. And you're going to have to wait until reading all of the documentation comes up on my things to do list.

I know.i made a mistake and don’t know how to delete it.
To the right of the “REPORT” button (and only on one’s own posts) is a “DELETE” button.
I use it more often than I am comfortable admitting.

I'm the one who had the owner to install that feature. You're welcome.

I read the entire letter, including the questionnaire. As I said.

I only admitted to not having read every word of the entire trial transcript...which is available, by the way.

Partway sounds about right. And you're going to have to wait until reading all of the documentation comes up on my things to do list.
I never expected you to read "all of the documentation" either. Just the seven page letter, which provides the proof you asked for. Heck, even if you only skimmed it, you'd find Trump's legal team had a say in jury selection. The prosecution and the court didn't "hand-pick" a jury without the defense's involvement.

The questionnaire is optional. I'd recommend it, but that's your call.

Now quit dodging. You wanted proof that Dershowitz lied, you got it.

-- A2SG, I can only lead you to it, I can't read it for you.....

Todd Blanche was there every day during the trial, and was directly involved in every part of the proceedings.

Alan Dershowitz doesn't know more than Todd Blanche regarding this trial. BLANCHE WAS THE LEAD COUNSEL.

I don't have to authenticate anything Todd Blanche said...he does it himself. HE WROTE THE LETTER.

When it gets to the point where you really feel that you need larger font, italics, bold and underlined to make sure someone actually understands what you are saying...then it is indeed a lost cause.

I hadn't resorted to a larger size yet, but I see your point.

My bad. I should have said 'all capitals'. When it gets to the larger font and multiple exclamation points!!!! then you have definitely reached the limit that any reasonable person could be expected to bear. Your ability to pursue reasonable arguments under such conditions is something I find to be commendable. I haven't that ability. At least not to your extent.

But like the man said: 'I'm trying Ringo. I'm trying real hard...'

Thanks.

Yeah, I can be more stubborn than I should be at times. Then again, there are worse posters on these forums for that kinda thing.

As you know.

No, I disagree. Trying to use the government to steer the society always ends badly. Always.

Aye, there’s a fair amount of hyperbole of what “the other side” will destroy if allowed to have power.

But the House took a month off to elect a new Speaker last year shows that the GOP can’t govern itself, (yet tries to convince their constituents that they’d be best at running the nation).

It's like make up your minds libs. The same goes with republicans are all wealthy... yet they're all trailer trash.
Republicans have tended to be “business friendly” since at least 1920…well after Roosevelt’s progressive agenda of the early 20th century broke up Standard Oil and the big Trusts.

Where have you seen Republicans referred to as trailer-trash?
(Not here, one would hope)

Of course he disagrees with the verdict. He lost.
He said much more than that. He pointed out numerous things that were wrong and weren't done right.

As to the jury he said: "We put a motion in because we said we could not get a fair jury in Manhattan. We had a very limited number of people we could strike. And most of the folks, an overwhelming number of folks, had a very strong opinion of Trump. And it wasn't positive.".

So basically he had a jury pool of people who pretty much all had a negative opinion of Trump. Which means at best he had a load of bad apples to choose from.
But he doesn't claim he wasn't involved in jury selection, which is what Dershowitz claimed. In fact, he discusses jury selection in that clip, so that's more proof that Dershowitz' claim is false.

What was the wording where Dershowitz claimed Blanche wasn't involved in jury selection? I know someone claimed Dershowitz lied, but I don't recall what Dershowitz said or where he said whatever is supposed to be a lie. Do you know what video or article was posted that shows Dershowitz lying? Or are we just going with Dershowitz lied because someone in this thread said he did?

Yup. He lost, of course he's going to disagree with the way the trial turned out. He's not exactly unbiased in that.

As to the jury he said: "We put a motion in because we said we could not get a fair jury in Manhattan. We had a very limited number of people we could strike. And most of the folks, an overwhelming number of folks, had a very strong opinion of Trump. And it wasn't positive.".
Yeah? Any crime is adjudicated in the jurisdiction where it occurred. That's normal. Trump's team tried to move for a change of venue, but they were denied. There are many valid reasons for a change of venue, but not liking the demographics isn't one of them.

So basically he had a jury pool of people who pretty much all had a negative opinion of Trump.
You'd have to prove that was the case...and since Trump's team had a say in the jury selection process, it's highly unlikely. Don't forget, while Trump's team did have a very limited number of people they could strike, the same applies to the prosecution.

Which means at best he had a load of bad apples to choose from.
Don't forget, 85,185 people in Manhattan voted for Trump in the last election. More voted for Biden, sure...but not everyone.

Surely some of those people were available for jury duty.

You posted the video. What did he say?

I identified each link as I posted them.

First, I posted the link to the letter, after which I said "This is a letter from Trump's attorney..."

The second link was in my sig, and it said: "if you want a full trial transcript, it's freely available...."

And even if you did go to the main transcript page, the link to the letter is there. It's labeled: "Juror Questionnaire with Cover Letter"

-- A2SG, I don't know how I could have been clearer.....
