  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A state bureaucrat orchestrating an attack on pro-life centers has taken a hit on her campaign in court.

Thomas More Society officials say a court has rejected a demand from New York Attorney General Letitia James to move litigation against her into her back yard.

Peter Breen, the head of litigation for the society, explained, "For the past month, Letitia James has tried to illegally frighten and harass New York’s pregnancy help organizations into silence, threatening them with lawsuits if they keep speaking their truthful message about Abortion Pill Reversal. We brought suit in Rochester, near to where most of the organizations are headquartered and work.

"Instead of agreeing to a convenient venue, James then sued these charitable organizations in Manhattan, despite the fact that not a single one of the organizations is located there. We are pleased that the court in Monroe County agreed that the cases should be consolidated together and heard in Rochester, the 'most fair, appropriate and logistically convenient venue,' and not in Manhattan, which has no connection to the case."

First off, Thomas More is my man, he wrote the book Utopia in the middle of the 2nd millennium (1500s), and is a Christian, so it is cool that there is an organization named after him. Read that book (translated to English) in the mid-2010s for fun.

Secondly, why would anyone want to attack pro-life? This is just a bad move by Democrats to demolish sanctity of life (note: I am not affiliated with any party, Democrat or Republican). As of 2019, Letitia James was/is Baptist Christian. So, she might want to take a look at these three verses below, and ask for repentance.

Letitia James is Christian: State AG “Tish” James Brings It Home To God And Community

Secondly, why would anyone want to attack pro-life?

The question is not about pro-life opinions, but the promotion of "abortion pill reversal"

The only clinical trial conducted to evaluate APR had to be halted due to concerns about patient safety. Major medical associations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) have cautioned that APR is not backed by science and does not meet clinical standards.

Heartbeat and the 11 crisis pregnancy centers named in Attorney General James’ lawsuit aggressively advertise APR on their websites, social media, and other promotional materials using false and misleading claims that lead patients to think that APR is a proven and safe treatment with minimal risks, despite the lack of reliable scientific evidence

These false and misleading statements constitute persistent fraud and illegality under Executive Law 63(12) and deceptive business and false advertising practices in violation of sections 349 and 350 of the General Business Law.

I think women considering abortions often feel a lot of coercion--from the father, family, and even pro-life organizations.
In these circumstances, it can be difficult for a woman to make a decision.
It pains me to imagine that a teen might visit a pro-life center and left undecided and be subjected to phone calls saying, "if you just started the process, don't worry. We can save your baby's life."
It also upsets me that women would be allowed to take an unsafe product to "atone" for her attempted "crime."

This is true. In fact, Healthline, a medical magazine, says that APR is impossible. While I do not support abortion (unless emergency where mother and fetus are at high risk), we must also be wary about experimental APR pills. In other words, if one regrets taking an abortion pill (such as mifepristone and misopristol), it is irreversible. Also, just for one to know, abortion pills are different from Plan B pills.
