Democrats and the left in general go on quite a bit about Trump being a dangerous cult leader dictator threat to democracy who talked the magas into trying to overthrow the government etc. Which I'm quite sure most anyone following what they say about Trump is very fully aware of.

Rank-and-file Democrats, yes, but for the most part (yes there are exceptions but nowhere the lockstep you’re trying to allude there is), the professional politicians understand that if one jacks-up the rhetoric, things can turn “nasty” quickly, so, for the most part, they don’t.

(If you’re going to refute this, point out more than, say, three examples, of recent incendiary remarks by prominent Democratic leaders.

It’s 2024, we’ve had nearly eight (yea, LONG) years of vigorous and lively political discourse and everyone is tired, so we’re reduced to bumpersticker back-and-forth for a bit, from time to time.
Like sedentary exercise it keeps the joints limber without taxing the body (or brain) too much.
