I read a follow-up article, and he was under the impression the suspension had been lifted two years earlier. He spent two days in jail while it was cleared up. But that video is priceless.

Yes, I heard that the license was suspended more than ten years ago, not for a driving related offense, but for a child support violation. It should have been reinstated a while back but although the license is automatically suspended upon conviction, it is NOT automatically reinstated when eligible.

But it is funny that he would zoom in to his court hearing behind the wheel. My all time favorite zoom mishap is the lawyer with his zoom filter stuck on “cat”.

Luckily in CA, that would be a fix it ticket. At least that was for my dad . And no jail time.

His driving license was suspended for a child support violation. I do hope his ability to pay, and make up for not paying child support wasn't dependent on being able to drive.

Well, he was in court today. The facts are truly interesting.

HE never had a drivers license.

Since the video went viral, he did an interview with WXYZ Detroit, and blamed other things. BUT he has had a state ID since 1999, and renewed it last in 12/23. People in Michigan can have either a state ID or a driver's license but not both. He has now been working on getting his driver's permit..
