It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.​

When Jesus taught this, it resulted in this (John 6:66)

The reason that it was so jarring is that Jews weren't allowed to consume "Blood". Something people don't realize is that the Jews ate the flesh of the food that was sacrificed on the Alter. Pagans did the same... which actually spurs a great read in 1 Corinthians 8.

Back to the matter at hand... Jesus wasn't saying to consume animal sacrifice and blood, but to the carnally minded, as Mr. M so eloquently expressed... to Eat Human flesh and Drink Human Blood. It was a rather horrifying statement. It evoked pictures of Pagans that were actually Cannibals in the Jewish minds. Jesus was seeking for them to look past the Carnal world and to the Spiritual world.

The very Alter was going to be the Earth that was created through the Son and the Sacrifice was the very promised Provision that was given at the Binding of Isaac.

The Blood would "Reconcile" all of Creation
The Flesh would CLOTH mankind in Righteousness
The Death would CRUSH the work of the Devil.
