  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello, all.
I would like to request prayer for my husband and myself. We are working through past hurts, and desire greatly to be in Christ in our marriage. Personally, I am struggling greatly with forgiving myself of past mistakes I have made that have caused great hurt, even though he has forgiven me. I desire greatly to move forward into a new life with him, but I am struggling with forgiving myself and letting go. Please, pray for us. Please pray for me to let go of my past mistakes. Please pray for healing of our hearts and our marriage. In Christ's love.

May God give you the power to realize His forgiveness and your acceptance of it. It’s time to let it go and move on. Do not give the devil a foothold. :praying:

Hello, all.

I pray that God will help reduce the burden of guilt from past sins. While this is a prayer forum, here are two passages of encouragement from Isaiah 43:18 and Joshua 1:9.

Isaiah 43:18 (ESV): "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past."

Joshua 1:9 (ESV): "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Isaiah 43:18 specifically calls us to forget the former things and not dwell on the past. In the context of our lives, this means letting go of regrets, mistakes, and negative experiences that can weigh us down and hinder our growth. Instead, we are encouraged to focus on the present, trusting that God is working in our lives for good. For example, someone, such as you, who is stuck in regret can be encouraged to trust God's forgiveness and mercy. Similarly, someone facing a major life change, can be reminded to trust God's presence and guidance in the new situation, even if it is uncertain or intimidating.

Joshua 1:9 is a command from God to Joshua, as he was about to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after the death of Moses. The verse emphasizes the importance of being strong and courageous, and not being frightened or dismayed despite the challenges they would face. God reassures Joshua that He will be with them wherever they go, providing comfort and guidance in the midst of uncertainty.
