Maybe, but it depends on what Israel does. If it does nothing then maybe we're done. But what if it hits back at Iran hard? Then we have room for escalation.
One can hope. But the news reports already have Israel doing more saber-rattling.

President Biden told Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a call on Saturday that the U.S. won't support any Israeli counterattack against Iran, a senior White House official told Axios.

"You got a win. Take the win," Biden told Netanyahu, according to the official.

The official said that when Biden told Netanyahu that the U.S. will not participate in any offensive operations against Iran and will not support such operations, Netanyahu said he understood.

No harm....well, not much.

No foul?

Im not sure that whats smart is what will prevail here. I get a sense that ideological extremism is winning out over pragmatism in the current Israeli govt.

It just an impression tho.
But also it's the hate of the Jews (and big satan) from an extremist Muslim ideological point of view that is the reason there won't be peace in the Middle East.

Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Syria

Iran sends drones and announces it to the world before they actually do anything

Combo of US and Israel shoot down drones

Big nothing burger.
Do you think the story ends there?

I just said, Pommel seemed to be saying that
No, he said Iran had a deal that would permit enrichment to 20% for energy, which is well below the requirements for nuclear weapons. This deal was broken by your daddy Trump, and they went back to weapons grade nuclear enrichment as a result.

You see, when you break your end of a deal the other party is no longer required to hold to their end either. Iran is a sovereign nation and not required to placate the religious right warmongers of the United States, and if they want to make weapons they are allowed to without anyone's permission. We can certainly sanction them or try to exert economic pressure, but no one has the power to just command them what to do and not do. So either one can invade the country and lose tens of thousands of lives if not more, or do this thing call "diplomacy" and give it a fair chance.

Trump, partly because of his profound unending stupidity, and partly because he doesn't care about consequences or the future, revoked the deal to "satisfy" people like you. You see, when war eventually happens as may be unfolding now, most of you aren't the ones who'll be going down there to fight. It's other people or other people's children going to die to protect your anti-Arab Zionist feelings. If the MAGA cult and Christian right had to go there and fight I bet opinions would be very different.

It actually isn’t. Killing is the main business of military forces, after all.
Actually it's the very definition of a war crime by international law, which is called genocide. Do you actually bother to Google anything or just say what you feel must be right without any research?

To some extent this rests on Israel and specifically on Netanyahu. On the one hand this was a direct attack by Iran, for the first time. On the other hand it was a telegraphed nothing burger as BPPLee described it. The shift from attack via proxy to direct attack is a significant change and could be used as a pretext for escalation.

My worry is that Netanyahu may benefit more from war with Iran than the people of Israel.

I don't like Trump tbh, but I dislike Biden way more, his limp wristed foreign policy is a death trap for us.

Iran said they were done, but for Israel to do absolutely nothing makes them look weak, and Iran is still out to destroy them as their ultimate goal - which is of course futile because they then fight against Yahweh Himself who will defend Israel as He has miraculously in the past.

Show your work, what “limp-waisted foreign policies” are you talking about?

Good thinking. Foreign policy should be based on stupid macho bullying, not limp wristed diplomacy.

wanting to have a ceasefire in Gaza before Israel completely destroys Hamas, allowing them to regroup and continue terror
wanting Israel to not retaliate for last night and said the US will not support an Israeli action to retaliate against Iran
Taking the Houthis and IRGC off the terrorist group list
trying to appease the Iranians and get back into a deal with them while they keep attacking Al-Assad airbase in Iraq. If their "diplomacy" is drones and missiles we need to walk away from negotiating with them. Continuing to try to negotiate just shows weak leadership.
Unfreezing $5 billion in assets is part of what paid for October 7th.
Instead of aggressively going after the Houthis on the ground when they hijacked the red sea and suez canal, affecting trade for the entire world, they've been content to just spend millions of dollars per missile shooting down drones that cost maybe a couple thousand dollars for the Houthis, and was content to just keep defensively shooting missiles down rather than bringing down the thunder on the Houthis and preventing future attacks.

That's weakness
and it's in large part because the Democrat party has been hijacked by Muslims and people who see Muslims as oppressed victims and thus morally virtuous (a byproduct of woke ideology that those without power are virtuous and those with power are oppressors and are inherently corrupt), so Biden faces pressure within the demographics he wants voting for him in November.
so he has to kowtow and be lukewarm to Israel and do minimal defensive moves only instead of doing what ought to be done and cratering them.

This is within last hour:
  • Israel's war cabinet meeting ended Sunday without a decision on how Israel will respond to Iran’s attack, an Israeli official said. The government is determined to take action – and the military has been asked to provide options, the official added.
"Israel’s UN ambassador Gilad Erdan said Iran "must be stopped before it drives the world to a point of no return, to a regional war that can escalate to a world war." Erdan accused Iran of seeking world domination and that its attack proved that Tehran "cares nothing, nothing for Islam or Muslims" before pulling out a tablet to show a video of Israel intercepting Iranian drones above Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani said his country’s operation was "entirely in the exercise of Iran’s inherent right to self-defense, as outlined in Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations and recognized by international law."

Iravani said:

"This concluded action was necessary and proportionate," adding that the operation was “precise and only targeted military objectives” to reduce the potential of escalation and to prevent civilian harm. “Iran is never seeking to contribute to the spillover of the conflict in the region, nor does it to escalate or spread the tension to the entire region," he said.

I predict it ends here.

Iran funded the Oct. 7 attack, got slapped across the face by Israel for it, and now it's back to Israel protecting itself against immediate threats.

Done deal.
