There are many examples on YouTube showing what Sora can do. Which is develop short, incredibly lifelike videos from text input. This is not in the public domain, but...I've no doubt at all that something like it will be at some time in the very near future.

The applications are unlimited. And uber scary.

They certainly could.... if they had the discipline and insight to avoid sources that are premised on lying to them.

Instead they're tuning in for emotional vibes like indignation etc.

Yep, a whole lot of creative people involved in visual arts will be out of work. Something simple like a car commercial for TV. If you want to advertise your latest model driving down a scenic highway you need a director and film crew to go on location, then a production crew afterwards. Not any more. Just type a few words into a computer.

I watched one example on Youtube where they added a picture of a person to the text and had that person animate. I wondered what it would be like to have pictures of my long dead mother, my granddaughter and a view of my living room and watch them interact.

Talk about emotional overload...

I remember the fear of robotics and the loss of jobs It wasn't as bad as I thought and I do have fears about AI also. Time will tell if it's warranted.

Ironically, the jobs we were told as children would be safest from computers (creative jobs) are the first to go. What is probably safest is anything where you get your hands dirty.
