Just for final clarification yes, we evolved from monkeys.

Throw in a little chiseling here and there, a little number crunching, and some connect-the-dots, and you're good to present it to the public as fact.
At least we have dots to connect. Despite that we have a massive amount of dots, we continue to add dots to that impressive pile of dots. With each fossil dug up, with each genome sequenced, with each metabolic pathway unraveled, there could pop up a dot that brings the whole set of connections down. Yet, after 200 years all dots fit nicely. After 200 years not a single dot is out of order.

You on the other hand have nothing. not fossil, not a single rock layer, not a single gene. You still not even grasped the simple rule of debunking the Theory of Evolution: know thy enemy.
The only thing that creationists display is their ignorance and their incapability of processing even he tiniest piece of new information.

And that highlights another difference between you and us. We cherish truth. As any new data point could bring the ToE down, we continue to research, measure, experiment, investigate. Because we love truth more than comfort. You guys dare not to look at reality because reality contradicts your beloved but o so false narrative. With what we have already.

To the doubting reader: you can chose the red pill or the blue pill.

I see this all the time, it's become one of those knee jerk responses, but we did infact evolve from monkeys if evolution is true.

This may seem pedantic, but by definition the common ancestor between monkeys and humans was infact a monkey, we would call it a monkey if we saw it today, it would fit all the criteria for being a monkey. it wasn't a modern one, but it was still a monkey.

The split from monkeys happened after new world and old world monkeys split, so humans are descended from old world monkeys wich would make our ancestors monkeys.
This really helps explain the “logic” that produces “reasoned” “arguments” like this one. These types of posts are almost the best evidence to support the post itself. However, based on the current state of affairs all monkeys every where disavow any relationship to us.

It’s doesn’t matter it’s contradictory to scripture therefore it cannot be true.
This is the essence of the creationist case; scripture trumps everything else, and scientific evidence doesn't matter. Exactly the same argument was used 400 years ago, when Kepler and Galileo said that the Earth revolves around the Sun rather than vice versa.

The only thing science has proven is there are similarities, they can’t actually prove that we are descendants.
Science has proven that there are similarities. Can you think of any explanation for these similarities other than common descent?

Mind if I amend that to:

"We cherish information."
I do mind that amendment. It's truth, not just "information". Because scientists test and challenge their theories and hypotheses. And only when a theory or hypothesis pasts tests - multiple tests and over a broad range of possibilities - will it be accepted. That is another difference between us and the creationists. We check what we bring out.

No there are not, there is evidence that humans COULD POSSIBLY be descendants of apes. There is absolutely zero evidence showing that humans ACTUALLY ARE descendants of apes. There’s a big difference there.
I reality there is one slam dunk evidence that humans evolved from apes - the fact that we are apes. There is no defining characteristic of apes that humans lack. The oft heard objection 'apes don't write symphonies' fails because symphony writing isn't a biological characteristic.

We are apes the same way we're primates, mammals, vertebrates, bilaterians, deuterostomes and eukaryotes.

That "check, verify" stuff isn't so popular
with the yec sorts, the which of why being
that it takes work!

And it requires integrity.

So much easier to just " Believe".
And make things up.

Bonus points for being wonderful.

We are [considered] primates, because we are penciled into those categories you just mentioned.

And why were we penciled into those categories?

Because, in academia's eyes, we passed the Duck Test.

It sure does take work.

It takes attempt after attempt after attempt, followed by some chiseling here and there to make it dovetail, and some computer programming and reprogramming to make everything fit like a glove.

And it requires integrity.

By some, who don't believe integrity and morality have anything to do with God.

So much easier to just " Believe". And make things up.

That's true.

It takes work to create a Frankenstein monster, with its parts chiseled to fit together, and many attempts to invigorate him to "life".

I think you used up every shred of irony in existence by making that post.

Oh well I guess that settles it everyone USincognito has spoken and since we all know that he is both omniscient and omnipresent anything he says is actual fact and cannot possibly be wrong. Thanks USincognito for your comprehensive explanation on the subject it was very informative.

He's got more going for his claims than you do. You've not really presented anything to say that the scientific consensus is wrong.

QV please:

The search for consensus is a good thing… sometimes. It is a good thing to have your group aligned and moving forward together. But your pursuit of consensus needs to be managed such that you don’t give everyone the right to derail the conversation until they get what they want. If everyone has a veto, stagnation is highly likely.

No, not only on paper. The evidence for shared ancestry with chimpanzees is in the fossil record, in our blood, in our anatomy, in our metabolism and in our genes.
What you guys have is just a paper book.

Nope

We are made in the image of God.
So the statement, apparently, is that
all of ToE is just on paper? Like that
it's all just made up nonsense, exists
only "on paper", iow, imagination?

And that is countered with that there
is extensive physical evidence for ToE,
while god- stuff of any sort is actually
what is only on paper.

Correct?

You say "nope" as in. the ToE stuff ain't true.

And you explain why it's nope, by quoting
a bible passage about image of god?.

You understand, don't you, that said reply
is not responsive?
