It's said to be the closest or more accurate transliteration, and most favored by Hebrew scholars.
I suppose because it preserves the four consonants of the Tetragrammaton. YaHWeH, or YaHVeH.

Many scholars do regard YHWH as the best transliteration and Yahweh as the best pronunciation.

Yes, it is, but written in Roman script rather than in Hebrew script; hence it is a transliteration.

So it is read YHWH or JHVH. The He being the fist and third letter from the left.

What are your thoughts on the two names of God? I always thought "Jehovah" was the mistranslation of YHWH, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong. There is no J in Hebrew.

Honestly, you can call Him 'Allah' if you want. If you are directing your prayers and worship to Him, it matters not what you call Him. He has no name of His own except that which He either wants men to call Him or what they prefer to call Him.

The verse you posted deals with Israel (worshipping other gods), the verse I posted deals with Gentiles (worshipping God). Islam worships what they do not know or understand.
