I drink it, periodically. I'm dying over here waiting for the rant the OP promised. ;)

When I was younger and worked in the heat, our crew tried to figure out if drinking Gatorade made a difference. One day we'd fill our water cooler with water and the next with water + powdered Gatorade. We did that for a while and decided it seemed to make a difference. I don't know. That's no experiment, but it did seem helpful. Electrolytes I guess?

Oh, I have bought bottled Gatorade. It's pretty tasteless, but I assume, rightly or wrongly, that it helps hydration. I take it your not a fan. Why? Taste?

I can tell you all are going to be pretty disappointed. Here goes. A few years ago i ran into a problem with it so i stopped buying it. It was on sale recently so i bought some thinking two years,, it can't have the same problem. Right?

You can't get the cap off. The cap has a plastic ring attached to the capil that's supposed to snap off and release the cap. It doesn't.. the more you turn the higher the ring goes until neither moves..
So it only took 20 minutes or so to get it open this time. I had to cut the notches that attached the ring to the cap,. Then it opened right up, nothing holding now... You're right it's watered. Down badly now . I'm pretty sure i jammed a hole in my hand a few years ago over this with a screwdriver. How could this be. It's got to be all of them. It can't be that i am the only one. Maybe it's only the local factory but still. They must know. Someone needs a good lawyer to sue them. Before someone gets hurt. Btw, pliers didn't work or my bottle opener. There you have it.

Although I haven't had that happen, I would be frustrated too if that were my experience. I wonder if others have encountered the same problem. They do always seem to be quite full so that I'm always careful not to spill it all over myself trying to open one.

Yes. Gatorade has a far higher concentration of sodium and potassium than other soft drinks. It was developed in the mid-60s at the Univ. of Florida. (Hence the name Gatorade.) The goal was to replace fluids and electrolytes in lost by athletes in heavy physical exertion, such as training and varsity football games. Not to get too personal, but I encountered it some years ago as part of the bowel prep for a colonoscopy. The procedure requires laxatives to clean out the colon. Which I was supposed to mix into a bottle of Gatorade. And drink the entire concoction over several hours. It tasted awful. Imagine a nasty, artificially flavored drink laced with salt. I didn't vomit it up, but I had some pretty serious dry heaves. Fortunately, there are newer bowel prep products available now that are much easier to take.

The concoctions are still really awful,

2 years ago it was pretty good but the taste has gone downhill. I buy the zero an it is barely sweet with the salt in it. I'm going to add aspirtain to it. I wonder what's going to happen to it in the next two years
