  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump v Biden round two

How likely do you think we are to see a rematch and given the issues that people have with both men who do you think would win if we did.?

I will share my thoughts.

I don't like either of them, I think both are just pawns in a much larger game.

I will not be voting for either.

That being said, I think Trump will win. I would be surprised if Biden runs against him.

I don't think Biden will be the Democrat candidate.
I strongly suspect the Democrat candidate will be Michelle Obama.

Trump vs. Obama?
Can't say who would win ... they are both very popular ...
but regardless of whom he is running against, I don't believe Trump will be allowed to win the 2024 election.

Please D's and R's! Choose someone else besides Trump and Biden!

But if its those 2, Biden will most likely win (barring unforeseen developments) - which Id prefer by far.

I think a moderate R could beat Biden. But the R base is far from moderate. Oh well.

It's easy for me. I live in a state where 70% of the residents will vote for Trump. So I could vote for Biden or a third-party candidate. It wouldn't matter.
Nevertheless, I will vote for Biden. I personally have never noticed anything wrong with his mind. I'm a senior citizen myself, not as old as Biden, but I am perfectly mentally competent--after all, I won't be voting with the 70% who will support Trump, and that's proof positive.

I really don't care about the person, what they say, or how they say it, the actions/policies are what is important.
Trump had/has the best policies for the people of America. Trump did/will win in a fair election, not even close.

I must say, the USA is in a peculiar situation. Nations rise, then they fall.

He lost the 2020 election, fair and square.

How likely do you think we are to see a rematch and given the issues that people have with both men who do you think would win if we did.?
I think it is more likely than not that we will not see a Biden vs. Trump rematch.

Right now, it does look like they'll win their primaries, though with an emphasis on "right now." The big problem Republicans have is the other candidates will split the vote amongst themselves, giving Trump easy wins in the mostly winner-take-all primaries. The less popular ones will drop out soon enough, but Trump will have amassed enough of a lead that it'll be harder to beat him.

As for Biden, the only half-credible person running against him so far is Kennedy, who isn't winning.

So with that, why do I think it's more likely than not it won't be Biden vs. Trump? Well, first, things can go differently in the primaries. But the other reason is this: Biden and Trump are old; both of them are already past the average life expectancy in the United States (even if we restrict it to the average expectancy for white men, which is higher than the general life expectancy, they're both older). In the slightly more than a year until the general election, the odds of one of them either dying or becoming so incapacitated that they have to withdraw is not that unlikely. Combined with the possibility of the primary going another way, I think the odds are more likely than not that it will not be the two of them against each other.

If it really comes to those two, who wins is barely a side note. Who loses is the people of the United States of America.

I am holding out for the slim chance we actually decent candidates.

Assuming they don't die before the conventions, I think it's pretty clearly going to be Biden vs. Trump. As for who will win, I think it's probably going to be Biden again. I don't expect it to be quite as tight this time because I think abortion is going to be a big issue in the swing states.

Just like the world hasn't noticed anything being wrong with Mitch McConnell's mind lately

Biden passed that stage before he was elected, he's was half dead and incapacitated then and is now

Biden couldn't carry Trumps golf clubs from the cart to the tee 30ft away

When will we see Trump on a bicycle? Do you think he knows how to ride one?

Odd that Biden was considered the winner of the debates in 2020, being "half dead."

It is sad people even want to carry on with these two but of course drama and emotion is what they are really interested in rather than what counts. This of course serves the true government owned by the money that supports the entire system, a system meant to distract from the real powers. No wonder the medias, owned by these oligarchs, spend their 24 hour days stirring up the dissention between folks. Only the elites benefit in the end yet the people foolishly think they have a constitution that protects them from this outside influence. To busy squabbling among selves to realize the nation of old is gone and the global government of Corporatism has taken over as it builds back even better for itself. Carry on with the nonsense if you wish. You are reaping what you sow and deserve the fruits.

The court is the one that did that not the president. I happen to live in the swing state of GA and know that we have a strict abortion ban.

The court with three Trump appointed justices, after he campaigned on appointing judges that would overturn Roe.
