  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do you wait for the Kingdom of God?

Mark 15.43 TPT: So a prominent Jewish leader named Joseph, from the village of Ramah, courageously went to see Pilate and begged to have custody of the body of Jesus. Joseph was a highly regarded member of the Jewish council and a follower of Jesus, who was eagerly awaiting the kingdom of God.

LESSON:
To eagerly await the kingdom is not a passive activity, but one that requires progressive preparation on our part so that we may be found worthy to partake in it when it comes. "And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming (1 John 2.28), "All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure (I John 3.3). Therefore, be diligent in prayer, in the word (studying, meditating, and practicing), communion with the Lord Holy Spirit, and fellowship with brethren so that you will grow and be prepared, having oil (Zoe), not only in your lamp (your human spirit) but also in your vessel (flesh - soul & body).

Luke 19:13
13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.../KJV

The BLB online says this about the word "occupy":
Outline of Biblical Usage [?]
  1. to be occupied in anything
  2. to carry on a business
  3. to carry on the business of a banker or a trader
Strong’s Definitions [?](Strong’s Definitions Legend)
πραγματεύομαι pragmateúomai, prag-mat-yoo'-om-ahee; from G4229; to busy oneself with, i.e. to trade:—occupy..../BLB

So to me, a more modern translation might be....I must be about my Fathers business...? !!
While we wait upon the Lord.

John 15:4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.../KJV

This is where the bulk of our time should go in this endeavor. And the OP already told us how to do that.
