Mark 15.43 TPT: So a prominent Jewish leader named Joseph, from the village of Ramah, courageously went to see Pilate and begged to have custody of the body of Jesus. Joseph was a highly regarded member of the Jewish council and a follower of Jesus, who was eagerly awaiting the kingdom of God.
LESSON: To eagerly await the kingdom is not a passive activity, but one that requires progressive preparation on our part so that we may be found worthy to partake in it when it comes. "And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming (1 John 2.28), "All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure (I John 3.3). Therefore, be diligent in prayer, in the word (studying, meditating, and practicing), communion with the Lord Holy Spirit, and fellowship with brethren so that you will grow and be prepared, having oil (Zoe), not only in your lamp (your human spirit) but also in your vessel (flesh - soul & body).
