  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Good Day.

I never really though NYC prosecutors had the skills to take on tax attorneys and win. Seems they now have confirmed my inclination.

Snip ....Scored a legal victory on Thursday after a New York prosecutor confirmed her two-year-long investigation into the Trump Organization's valuation of a golf club was closed without any criminal charges being filed.

Trump wins massive legal battle as prosecutors drop case

In Him,

Bill

The thread title is inaccurate. This was an investigation started by the Westchester County DA, and has nothing to do with NYC. Which I was able to find quickly, but you didn't bother mentioning in your OP and specifically didn't include an article. This is misleading at best.

ETA: Oh, and there were no charges to drop since this was simply an open investigation.

The article clearly stated the 2 year long "Investigation"" was dropped

Dropped charges, Dropped investigation?

Anybody can be investigated for anything, while actual charges need some level of evidence and the sign off of a grand jury. They are not the same thing at all. Closing an investigation is a natural part of the process, and doing so without charges just means that the investigation found charges were not warranted. Dropped charges on the other hands comes from discovering that the evidence was bad, or that the theory of the crime is too weak to salvage or some kind of bombshell revelation. Closing an investigation is normal, dropping charges is a BIG DEAL. So no, not the same thing at all.

The poster stated dropped charges, when it was dropped investigation, the article the poster attached gave a complete expanation of a 2 year "Investigation" being dropped

Is a person allowed the room for human error in (Charge vs Investigation) or should we hold the posters feet to the fire?

The investigation or charges that could have been brought are from a liberal New York State, against a conservative presidential candidate Donald J. Trump, is it a big deal or a pre-planned orchestrated event to stop his 2024 bid for President, that the entire world is privy of?
