  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Christian brothers and sisters,

Please be in prayer for me and for my husband Rick, for we still have a very broken marriage, which has been broken the whole of our 50 years of marriage. And it is still in the bad condition it has always been in. So what we have is not a marriage and it has never been a biblical marriage. What we have are two separate people living separate lives who share a few things in common, like our kids and our grandkids, but we are going opposite directions. We are on friendly terms most of the time, but there is no real connection there. And this is not an area where there can be compromise, for this is not about trivial stuff like just differences of opinion over things. And nothing that I am saying here about our situation is being hidden from my husband, either, for this is a subject that we talk about here and there, for it is an ongoing situation that never ends. So there are no surprises here. And he and I talked about this again in the past couple of hours. He knows he is doing wrong to me and to God, even though he professes faith in Jesus Christ. And all I am asking of you at this time is just to pray. I am just saying we need prayer.

Thank you. Sue

P.S. I usually post in the devotions and blog sections of CF, in case you don't know who I am.

Hi Sister Sue,

Really sorry to hear of your issue. There is not much advise nor sage sayings I can provide as I'm single. All I can offer is a prayer and trust that the Lord will lead and guide both you and your husband.

Our Father we seek You in prayer for sister Sue as she navigates her marriage. We ask for Your guidance and wisdom to be upon the the couple. Through You may their marriage be led to better tomorrows. By Your love may You heal and bind their hearts. We ask and claim these in the name of our Saviour Jesus, Amen.

Prayers :praying: This came to me, I'm not sure why :)
Thank you. I suspect it has to do with my husband's heart. He tries in his flesh sometimes to do what is right but with the same old heart. He knows this is a heart issue but he always stops short when it gets to that point where his heart needs to be transformed by God. Something keeps him holding on to the old heart but he needs a new heart which sometimes he will admit and then not move beyond that. So he needs a new heart, one that seeks after God and his will and not after the flesh. His heart has to want God more than the flesh. He knows this Intellectually.
Lord, have mercy on your Servant, Sue, and her husband. Illumine their path back to one another, and to You for the rest of the days of their lives. Amen.
Thank you, Phronema, for your kindness.
