No........... it is only mentioned 3X in Acts
#1
Act 8:36 And as they went on
their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See,
here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
Act 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Act 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
It was the Eunuch that asked for water… Philip did not call for it. (keep in mind…. this was Philip the evangelist not the Apostle)

#2
Act 10:46b
…Then answered Peter
Act 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Act 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Oops! ….Oh now I remember↓
Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
It’s not hard to imagine Peter with his zeal in this account …Particularly after hearing Gentiles (dogs) speak in tongues…Which is probably why he got carried away and did a water baptism …. especially with Gentiles…. to make sure all the bases were covered……. But he did realize his error.
(From Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence)

#3
Act 19:2 He (Paul) said unto them, Have ye received the holy spirit since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any holy spirit.
Act 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Act 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Act 19:5 When they heard
this, they were
baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
(Supporting scripture for #3 Mar 1:8,
Mat 3:11,
Luk 3:16,)
Moments before Jesus was taken up, He instructed the 12 Apostles what the baptism (under the new covenant) was going to be.
Act 1:5 For John truly
baptized with water;
but ye shall be
baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
The word
BUT is a contrasting conjunction setting in contrast that which was just spoken. Jesus
DID NOT use the words “
in addition to water” … instead He said “But Ye shall …”
In the vernacular ….. When the greater comes the lesser is done away with …And it changed because there was a new covenant installed on/at Pentecost … water is inferior to what is now a far superior and truly internal….forever!
The movement away from water…. to the name of Jesus Christ was a big transition…one of many. The baptizing in the name of Jesus Christ
IS the
full emersion in everything Christ represents and
