  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's best for those who object to simply boycott Target, the way they've boycotted Budweiser. That's what will put a stop to other companies making the same mistake.
I agree. And quite frankly I don't believe these so called threats. I think Target saw what happened to Bud Lite and decided to try and mitigate it for themselves. Since they haven't removed those things completely I believe a boycott is still warranted. We need to make it loud and clear this is not acceptable.

You don't believe in the 1st Amendment and capitalism?
Of course we do, that's why we want our voices heard and will let companies know with our money. Capitalism is about companies providing products to consumers and when consumers go out and say we do t like your products and won't spend our money there that is capitalism.

Here we go:

And just another example of the LGBTQA+ agenda of going after children. It's completely undeniable at this point.

Sure I do. But I still don't think it's a good idea to have satanic themed LGBTQ wherewithal on display in the front of a department store.
I'm not quite sure that "Satan approves of pronouns" is sending a "Satanic message. Seems more like snark to me. But what do I know, I only lived through bogus Satanic Panic in the 80s.

Especially when the thing you've been told to outraged about is a lie.

Yes, that aspect of the story was misrepresented a bit. However, it's not as completely bogus of an assertion as people are trying to dismiss it as.

At a Target in New York City’s downtown Brooklyn neighborhood that the AP visited on Monday, the same adult swimsuits shown on social media featured the “tuck-friendly” tag, while a kids’ black swimskirt for sale instead had a tag reading: “Thoughtfully Fit on Multiple Body Types and Gender Expressions.”

So if they're selling kids swimskirts that advertise being "Thoughtfully fit on multiple gender expressions" It doesn't mention "tuck" specifically, but it's certainly adjacent to what the stated concern was. (and that's from Target's own website, link above)

And while they say "Both pages list the products as coming in “general adult sizing” and offer adult XS as the smallest size for sale."

Can you entirely rule out the idea that it's maybe marketed with minors in mind?

Adult size XS is what they're calling it, but I wore and adult size M when I was in 8th grade despite not being an adult.

Here are the standard US sizing charts for the recommended sizes.

So, perhaps a more accurate way to put it

"Tuck friendly bottoms made for persons who are between 5' and 5' 3" and 100-110lbs"

If you had to ballpark it and guess of what age group of biological males (as they're the only ones would need to "tuck") that size range would mostly cover, what would you guess?

If we're going just by averages:

And do it at a Target in San Francisco. They need all the help they can get there. Such a peace-loving place.

Seeing how the far right behave, yes, I can believe this. And so, can people on the far left.

You can, but most stores sell things, that are supposed to be unacceptable to Christians. So, you might as well boycott most stores. I don't go to Target much, because I could get things cheaper.

Is there any proof of these threats and who is issuing them?

Christians aren't the only ones objecting to it.

It was a safety decision. On Stephanie Miller today, they said the Hollywood Target still has it's display because folks there aren't threatening employees.
again a business decision Hollywood is not exactly main street usa

Probably because "Hollyweird" has a demographic that wouldn't boycott it.

(Note: even the locals call it "Hollyweird").

I've been looking around for what these threats to Target employees have been, and so for I haven't found any examples.
Most likely something along the lines of "If you don't remove these items, I'll never shop here again!" (No doubt seen as a terroristic threat if uttered by a conservative)
