Unprotected is the default state. Thats because we dont want the govt meddling in every single market interaction between private entities.I was asking because I keep hearing about a protected class. So I figured there must be an unprotected class. Otherwise why make such a distinction? The kid's claim is the other side is doing what he got censored for. That one thing is being promoted and advocated while the other thing is being censored.
We've only created protected classes where history has demonstrated that lack of protection can lead society to dark places. The effects of rank racism in the marketplace come to mind. "Whites only" as an sign you might see in business windows for example.
Typically, choice of attire does not merit govt protection. Schools, businesses, etc are free to have dress codes in terms of casual/formal, or in terms of slogans etc.
