I think these incidents should be on a case by case basis. As SOON as a church donates, no forgiveness, no anything. They know hte rules.

You do that, you lose tax exempt status as an individual organization.

Because of the social pressure. I wouldn't say that is illegal but it is not okay. If your church started to promote a candidate you disagreed with, how would you respond to that? There's a lot of social pressure involved there.

I had ONE dude in my church pray for a certain party to win an election and our church came down on him. He didn't lose office but he had a reprimand and he no longer ever led prayers of the people.....as should be.
Why is it not okay? Isn’t the pastor the shepherd of the congregation? Shouldn’t he state what he thinks is best for his people?

The spiritual Shepard.

Voting is arbitrary and sooo for beneath Christ.

Dont go that way. Yall had peoblem when Islam does it in other countries. I thought that was a principled stance.

Matthew 28:18 says different.

Only tax-liable entities may engage in politicking.
I am against taxing Churches for just this reason.

How bout he's not their master, nor in charge of them. He's just a pastor doing whatever it is they do the rest of the week.
He is responsible for instructing them in all of what scripture says. Part of that is application.

God already has all authority.

Why would he involve himself in petty human politics?
People decreasingly trust God.

Thats why they're increasingly invested in politics. Its like life and death crucial for people and they hang every hope on it.
