Let's finally get around to finally indicating Trump!

Hooray , but what shall we indict him for?

Let's go with the most flimsy case that will likely only result in a misdemeanor, if it manages to get that far.

Yeesss!

You write this as if "finally indicting Trump" was a collective decision made by "The Left" or "Democrats". It was not.

As should be clear, the current indictment was issued in one county in one state -- the county where Trump lived until becoming President.

Whatever, precisely, is in that indictment will (as it only can) refer to conduct that occurred in New York. The New York County DA only had NY crimes to potentially charge Trump with. Either they found conduct they thought could be charged or they didn't. And then they either decided to charge or didn't. It would seem that in both cases they did. We'll see the actual charges in a few hours and then meaningful discussion of those specific charges can start. What ever Trump did or did not do in other jurisdictions is not for the Manhattan DA to charge.

Really? The congressional record is lying - please cite your sources showing it.

The Congressional Record is just a record of what Congress wants to put in it. It is not a list of true statements.

CONGRESSIONAL RECORD — SENATE February 9, 2021

Page S594, column 3:

While spreading lies about the elec- tion outcome, in a brazen attempt to retain power against the will of the American people, [Trump] incited an armed, angry mob to riot—and not just any- where but here in the seat of our gov- ernment, in the Capitol, during a joint session of Congress, when the Vice President presided while we carried out a peaceful transfer of power, which was interrupted for the first time in our history. This was a disaster of historic proportion. It was also an unforgivable betrayal of the oath of office of Presi- dent Trump, the oath he swore, an oath that he sullied and dishonored to ad- vance his own personal interests.

I'll believe it's not politically motivated the day I buy the Brooklyn Bridge. There's no way I'm going to believe it's just a coincidence that indictment time is finally occurring nearly half way into a presidential election year. Not even if I was 100% anti Trump.

Really? I didn't realize that the election was moved to 2023.

Really interesting what you chose to demonstrate congressional records are not true statements. Kinda kills everything posted about the Jan 6 fiasco.

BRAVO! Well done - I don't believe that is an accurate nor true statement either.

This seems to be laboring under the misconception that the only evidence for the Jan 6th attacks is in congressional records.
And also that there's only two possibilities - everything in congressional records is true, or everything is false.
Back here in reality, both of those aren't true.

Trump's modus operandi is to submit court filing after court filing to delay, delay, delay. He just did it again yesterday to keep his aides from testifying in the Special Prosecutor case. Not only that, in this Manhattan case, the past DA was told to stop pursuing the case after Cohen's sentencing by DOJ. So that's what he did.

It certainly had the desired effect of helping you realize that your argument is unsound.

One may hope that it will help your future arguments be of higher quality, now that you know better than to make unsound arguments of this sort.

Well the constitution goes out the window. The left will be haha so happy thinking after all these years "this is it we got him now". Yet nope. Allot us here knew when this happened we would see allot of posts.. poof here they are. What lacks here is proof of intent

Nothing is going to happen. Its what they did makes us more like a 3rd world nation and its getting harder to get back. The back fire from this will hurt dems so much now. We all know now how they have been trying to go after that man and his family for so many years now and this is one more nail where even Dem's will start sticking up for president Trump. They don't like him but this is just going to far.

Well my skepticism mixed with cynicism might be due to being in conversations about him being indicted and convicted for six or seven years now, which can't all be blamed on Trump. And this latest, even though it's finally an actual indictment, will probably only lead to a misdemeanor, if it even succeeds, which isn't all that likely. How come it didn't take so many years with so many excuses to idict and convict Cohen and so many others tied to Trump? I keep hearing what a buffoon Trump is and how incompetent his layers are, yet they somehow supposedly manage to do what no one else, like lawyer Cohen, and high level people with top lawyers, have even come close to managing.

They weren't president at the time. Prosecutors couldn't start the ball rolling against Trump until after he left office.

The previous AG (Vance), before leaving at the end of his term), indicated that the investigation wasn't complete, and needed more work. In NY, these cases often take years.

It may shock you to learn that New York politics is not always on the up and up. Donald is very wealthy, not adverse to buying politicians and well-known to be vengeful. Plus his business affairs are deliberately complex with a multitude of shell corporations, so it is a lot of work to unravel.
