  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love this series. I'm in the middle of Season 3, and it's absolutely superb.

Some of my favorite sequences: when Jesus calls Matthew; when Jesus speaks with the Samaritan woman at the well; when Jesus heals the demoniac; when Jesus interacts with His disciples; the miraculous catch of fish.

It's a really superb series in that it gives a whole, new, fresh look at the Gospels and offers insights that you never considered before. One thing that also strikes me is how the Romans are presented....in this series, the Romans are pretty much viewed by the Jews in the same way that the French viewed the Germans in World War II: as brutal, arrogant, oppressive, parasitic occupiers.

the series is really amazing. So much so that even my friends who are agnostic are watching it, and deeply moved by it

my favorite scene is this one
Matthew, [as played] in this series, is my favorite Apostle.

Matthew is great in that series, and many of us can identify as people who went-astray, turned their back on God, or who fell out with their friends and family, only to find God later.
