In an online meeting recorded ahead of a planned protest in November, 2020, according to prosecutors, Rhodes discussed stationing an armed “quick-reaction force,” or Q.R.F., outside of Washington, D.C., and contended that Trump had the power to invoke the Insurrection Act and call the armed group into action. “That Q.R.F. will be awaiting the President’s orders. The video from Hunter's laptop shows him smoking crack.

A video of someone possibly consuming an illegal substance in an unknown location would not be sufficient for an "easy conviction". Unless technology has advanced to the point that chemical analysis can be performed on a video image, there is no way to prove that the substance being smoked was, in fact, crack cocaine, or any other illegal drug.

I mean, it probably was. But no one could ever prove it, and proof - beyond a reasonable doubt - is what is required for a conviction, easy or otherwise.
