So they were expecting that the US military called in via Martial Law
No, they were expecting to be deputized as militia when Trump invoked the Insurrection Act.

Even though that's not what the Insurrection Act does in any way whatsoever.

The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a United States federal law that empowers the President of the United States to deploy U.S. military and federalized National Guard troops within the United States in particular circumstances, such as to suppress civil disorder, insurrection, or rebellion.

I can't help that Stewart Rhodes is a dumdum.

Based on information from coöperating witnesses and the fact that the Oath Keepers stockpiled weapons in hotels in northern Virginia, prosecutors say that Rhodes and his co-defendants planned to forcibly block the transfer of Presidential power. In an online meeting recorded ahead of a planned protest in November, 2020, according to prosecutors, Rhodes discussed stationing an armed “quick-reaction force,” or Q.R.F., outside of Washington, D.C., and contended that Trump had the power to invoke the Insurrection Act and call the armed group into action. “That Q.R.F. will be awaiting the President’s orders. That’s our official position,” Rhodes explained, to members of the group. “And the reason why we have to do it that way is because that gives you legal cover.” Prosecutors rejected the defense’s interpretation of the Insurrection Act as unconstitutional: “no government official, including the President, has authority to authorize an attack on the Capitol or the government more generally.”

Do you believe everything you read on the internet? What's ARLnow? How about an article from CNN or the WP or similar? Oh wait, there's links in the article to other well known sources like emptywheel.net
What is it exactly you are taking exception to? No cache of weapons? They had no view that Trump would empower them?

He is CCed on the email. The email is from James Gilliar, the one who says the 10 percent does not pertain to Joe Biden.
And Bobalinski ( or whatever his name is) says it does.

It's amazing. These are the same people who listened to Trump's clown car of now sanctioned and censored lawyers who claimed a stolen election, and seen it as their sworn duty to stack bodies on the DC lawn to make things right. They are a group of ignoramuses, but their intent was clear.

So all of the protestors there were expecting Trump to deputize them under federal law to break the law, or was that just a small percentage of kooks?

And Bobalinski ( or whatever his name is) says it does.
  • Fox News has reviewed emails from Bobulinski related to the venture — and they don't show that the elder Biden had business dealings with SinoHawk Holdings, or took any payments from them or the Chinese.
  • Former vice president says he had no involvement; corporate records reviewed by The Wall Street Journal show no role for Joe Biden
  • There is no evidence that the former vice president was involved in or profited from a joint venture pursued by his son and brother.
It seems no one can flush out his claims as true. The FBI has the laptop, had since 2018. There is no exposure here even for Hunter let lone Joe.

How large of a group were they? And how much of a chance did they have to succeed?

Wait, the FBI has the laptop? What about all these posts claiming there is no laptop and asking for a picture of it?

If some guy with a butter knife runs from fifty yards away shouting "Allah Akbar" runs towards a US president surrounding by secret service, and the SS according light him up with lead, how well thought out the plan really doesn't matter.

Can't answer that. What is floating around and apparently the computer shop was handing out like candy, was copies of copies of the harddrive.

Percentagewise, small. Say it ain't so referenced the slice at the head of this minithread. They're the groups some of whose members are getting convicted of seditious conspiracy (including Rhodes himself).

The video from Hunter's laptop shows him smoking crack.
A video of someone possibly consuming an illegal substance in an unknown location would not be sufficient for an "easy conviction". Unless technology has advanced to the point that chemical analysis can be performed on a video image, there is no way to prove that the substance being smoked was, in fact, crack cocaine, or any other illegal drug.

I mean, it probably was. But no one could ever prove it, and proof - beyond a reasonable doubt - is what is required for a conviction, easy or otherwise.

So there's dozens of Hunter Biden's laptop hard drives in the hands of dozens of people... but if there's not a pic it didn't happen, so they don't exist

That makes as much sense as Trump was going to deputize the insurrectionists under a federal law designed to stop insurrectionists.

They have a laptop. The laptop reportedly has some data from Hunter Biden's accounts on it, but it's uncertain whether or not the laptop actually belongs to Hunter Biden - which means that it may not be Hunter Biden's laptop.
