CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

3 day eventing absolutely! Show jumping involves as much athleticism as many other Olympic sports. And both embody the original Olympic spirit of keeping the common man out. The larger boats still maintain that part of the Olympic spirit, the smaller classes, not so much.

Yes, it takes great skill to order one’s words in such a manner that results in opening a door that can no longer be shut and shutting a door so that it can never be opened again.
Though the contests were referred to as Games, they were not considered Sport, there is a difference.
A lot has changed over the years, they did not originally award gold medallions, they strove to receive a Laureate, as a token of recognition for their demonstration of divine skills, these crowns were awarded to rulers and poets (prophets) as well, not just athletes.
The (Laurel) Bay [aka, Daphan] is a Sacred Tree Known [by Sephardic Jews] for it’s medicinal properties, venerated, as an Oracle, to where one may resort, commune with Alohym, make requests, seek resolution, or receive (prophetic) revelations, from whose (evergreen) leaves and branches a Crown of Glory is woven and awarded to those who have competitively striven to overcome unsurmountable odds victoriously.
This is what the Olympic Games were established for, not for barbaric entertainment where one can boast in their own might, but to show what the divine can perform through us.
