Agreed. OTOH, "woefully derelict" seems an unlikely phrase for Trump to type, no matter how fitting it might be to the Trump image in other ways.
I don't think so. Sounds exactly like the kind of "catchy phrase" he would think to use to me. The sentiment presented is typical Trump speak, over the top self-adulation, and I seriously can't picture anyone other than Trump who would say that or even think to say that about Fox News.

He does more than Republicans ever have.

But that is a pretty moot point.
True, he threw the union workers under the train.

[PA Gov] Shapiro told NPR on Wednesday that "I don't believe for a second Norfolk Southern would do this on their own," if it weren't forced by the federal government.

The railroad has "given the middle finger to the good people of Pennsylvania and Ohio by failing to show up at community meetings, by really insulting the community with a lackluster investment in their recovery."

"And I'm frankly sick and tired of the way their CEO has acted like a king, as opposed to someone who's contrite and willing to work with the community to get it back up on its feet," the governor said.

"This is the same company that has sadly and successfully lobbied Congress over multiple years to do away with safety measures that would cost them a few bucks but might keep the community safer."

"They line themselves up with lawyers and lobbyists to escape scrutiny and I'm sick and tired of it."

Shapiro said Congress needs to act to make railroads safer.

"They need to put real teeth into some of these laws involving the safety of our railways. They need to force Norfolk Southern and the other railroad companies to invest real money in their braking systems and the security and safety of their trains."

...so months from now, after the NSTB reports their findings, let's see who in Congress will actually support stronger regulation....or who will be beholden to the industry lobbyists.

As I recall, the Congress failed to support rail worker's bid to have paid sick leave. Sick leave. Think about the next time a freight train rolls through your home town.

I'd rather see the railroad pay a billion dollars in fines, and settlements, and go bankrupt. I'd rather choke companies like this to literal death than over regulate.

The incentive is - don't screw up, or you die financially.

That's the difference between Trump and Biden. Trump is just one of those people who cannot help but simply care about his fellow human beings.

Not good enough.

In limited liability capitalism, lots of management will roll the dice on nothing bad happening so they can save on safety to beat share price expectations and get their bonus. If things do go haywire they bail out with their pre negotiated severance.

We'd all end up paying for that when goods can't be transported.

Doesn't seem fair. When I was a crane operator, if I tipped a crane on a house, I was personally responsible, and would serve jail time if a miscalculation caused loss of life. ...But management isn't held to the same standards for their miscalculations in causing damage or loss of life?

Makes you wonder how Northern Californians still get electricity after tens of billions of dollars in fines.

"The deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history claimed more than 18,800 structures, including 13,696 single-family homes and 528 businesses."

"PG&E is approaching the end of a complicated bankruptcy case that it used to work out $25.5 billion in settlements to pay for the damages from the fire and others"

When Californians are able to pay enough, they can get all the electricity they want. They'll just end up going bankrupt in the process (as Obama promised): (More) Breaking News! California Electricity Prices are Still High!

Really? Message wise I can see it but frankly, I haven't seen him be ANYWHERE NEAR that loquacious and eloquent in ANY form of communication.
I don't see anything grande about the communication. I mean right off the top, "This report searched for the term...?" That's a grammatical error. Since when does a report search for a term?

Looks like propaganda to me, trying to get people to search the term. Fox isn't licking his boots lately, so the so-called report proceeds to suggest that 144 million people are therefore bypassing the major Networks to hear about Trump elsewhere. Moreover, the so called "report' is telling you what you will find in case you didn't look, Trump bringing hope to a people without hope due to the incompetence of Biden.

True, he threw the union workers under the train.
He and ALL the Republicans.

But yeah, that's why it's SOOOOO hiliarious when Republicans claim that Democrats are Socialists. Biden and Dems are sOOOOO far from socialists it's laughable. They BARELY even support workers.

And Biden calling himself a union guy? Yeah....well, relative to the Republican candidate, he IS. But he is FAAAR from an ACTUAL union supporter.

With PG&E, you keep choking them to death, over and over, and they just keep springing back to life. Crazy.
Of course! People need electricity. Choke the supplier of it and hit them with big fines, and the customers end up paying for it, which keeps the company alive. If you want to see electricity rates go up even higher, keep making it more expensive for the company to make electricity. The customers will pay the price and keep the company alive.

Are we reading the same thing? Right off the top, "This report searched for the term...?" That's a grammatical error. Since when does a report search for a term?
This feels like a weird debate to have but that is just a stylistic choice of writing. Additionally, this could be an automated report generated (in which case it isn't too far off hte mark). Folks understand reports don't search for the term but the report shows the results of a person searching the term.

That is the ONE piece of this writing, I'll grant, could sound like it came from trump

Sorry? Are there place where utility rates AREN'T going up?
You keep gloating about california but up here in Alberta, an VERY conservative bastion in Alberta, our utility rates are going THROUGH THE ROOF because our conservative government refuses to cap the rates. There's no REASON for the increase; it's just greed.

So, what do you recommend when a company consistently burns down thousands of acres of land, on a yearly basis? Generating tens of billions of dollars in damages, and killing dozens of people? What do we do about companies who cause excessive damage like this?

Is it regulation then? Or do we just let them get away with it and move on? Even when simple preventive maintenance could have prevented it?

Then it would have better that this happened in your hometown so that you could show us your patriotic capitalism by happily accepting a giant corporation polluting your town so the rest of us can get our new jeans and Xbox’s in a timely and financially prudent manner.

For a group of people who claims to hate socialism, the right sure does love socialism for corporations. They’d rather see fellow human beings see their home values get shanked than a soulless corporation be held responsible for its mistakes.

I was responding to someone about PG&E which serves California, which has the highest electricity rates in this country. I had also been responding about how costs go up for the consumer when companies are "choked to death" by fines and regulations, whether it's energy producers, or transportation companies.

If the only solution is to begin jailing management people, then perhaps we should create laws to more easily prosecute management level employees? Sending them straight to prison for careless or preventable mistakes?

...Just like a crane operator goes to prison for making a simple math mistake in his load chart, resulting in a tipover.

Accidents happen. But if you're willing to give up all the products (hazardous and otherwise) that you currently depend on, then go ahead! Same goes for the electricity that PG&E produces, and yet we're all supposed to hate.
