  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What a haul!

Momma found a deal on Facebook Marketplace---200 DVD movies for $100.00. She'd been dickering with the guy for several days, and he then said it was 250 movies for the same price. We finally connected with the guy today, and it turned out to be 300 movies for $100.00, and he threw in about four dozen VHS tapes for free! That works out to about .30¢ per movie. I don't know if any of you still buy DVDs, but to get them brand new in the store, they're running around $10.00 a pop.

It's a mixed bag, of course, but I've already spotted quite a bit of stuff in there that looks pretty good....I'll be busy over the next few days, going through the stash. :) And once they've been culled, we already have a bunch of duds here that we need to get rid of---so we'll simply combine them, and re-sell them. :) It's a win-win!

Nice… you basically bought a small Blockbusters :)

I still buy disks for anything that I like, which is now maybe just a few movies per year given the… ahem… quality forced agenda of entertainment lately. If you have the disk, it’s immune to editing, censorship and memory-holing by Clownworld. Take, for example, Friedkin’s horrible edits to “The Exorcist”, or Spielberg’s war-crime worthy updates to E.T., replacing FBI agents’ guns with walkie-talkies.

Good deal! I love DVD’s! I like my hard copies. And being an old Hollywood fan, it works out for me. What type of movies did you get?

It sounds like we won't be hearing from Wolseley for a few years then. He'll be at the home hermitage watching 300 DVD's.
I wish I had more free time :D

A little of everything, Michie. A lot of comedies, a lot of action movies, some sci-fi, a sprinkling of war movies, a horror picture or two. A few seasons of a couple different TV shows. There were also a lot of kids' movies, which I'm not interested in, but I'm sure Noah will want to add them to his collection.

This would make me so excited!! :D I'm a huge movie buff, too bad I don't have more time on my hands.
