  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is "Ritual"? Why does it seem some Churches give more emphasis to it while others don't?

And so is the entire Bible interpreted by men.
What Jesus said about the Gospel of the Kingdom, the good news and why He was sent to proclaim and bring it to fruition, needs no interpretation. It simply says what it says and is backed up in the Lord's Prayer where it says His Kingdom will come and His will will be done in earth, not ours any longer. Trust man to bypass that and build a religion around rabbit trails. Must be because man wants to remain in control.

But according to your interpretation, Jesus never instituted the Sacraments and
The Apostles, St. Paul and St Ignatius of Antioch and St Polycarp were wrong.
The Early Christian Church was wrong to continue administering the Sacraments
according to your interpretation of Scripture, eh?

How does that relate to the Gospel of the Kingdom, which is what Jesus said He was sent to proclaim and establish? How does setting up yet another government over man relate to God returning to take away governments of man?

How does Baptism, the Eucharist and Confession relate to the Kingdom, yet they are
Sacraments that Jesus instructed his Apostles to administer.

There is sanctifying grace received in the Sacraments, whether you believe it
or not.
