Does dating/marrying a non-Christian disqualifying for serving on the music team?

Let's say someone is a Christian (or at least a professing Christian) and has been serving on the music team.

Does dating a non-Christian disqualify this person from serving on the music team?
Does marrying a non-Christian disqualify this person from serving on the music team?
What if twenty years later they go to a difference church and this person wants to serve on the music team again (assuming their now-spouse is still non-Christian)?

A more general question is: what counts as leadership-roles in the church (public-facing or private?) and what kinds of sins disqualify someone from serving on that role and if so, for how long?

It depends on the church in question. I don't think that it is the same for every church.

I'd say it does disqualify someone from being in any leadership position, worship team included.

The only exception to this is if they are already married and not getting married or beginning to date that person.

Why would a Christian want to date/marry a non-Christian is the more important question though.

It depends on the church in question. I don't think that it is the same for every church.

This. If church leadership disapproves to the point you would be required to step down, then do so. If not, continue to serve in that capacity as you feel led.

I would consider against marrying a non-believer. If you want to raise your children as Christian, you will more than likely run into issues with your spouse disagreeing. Yeah, you might convert your spouse, but they could also drag you away from Christ. I think it would be wiser to only marry another saved Christian. God bless you!

Wise not to marry - they're probably not going to be interested in studying, reading, discussing anything about God or not in a unified manner. When it gets to spending time at church, they'll probably want to do other things. So we've got priorities, communication, time, money, commitments, and children (posted earlier) as areas of different perspectives.

I think there would be much more conflict between two people if they were believers in different denominations. Often times a Christian leads a non Christian to salvation That also applies to those that they love.

Paul is clear that Christians should not marry non-Christians, but whether such is fit for leading in various capacities is up to interpretation by existing church leadership. That determination is not Biblically explicit.

Anyone in a leadership role whether public as in the church service on Sunday or more private as in home groups should be not just a ' professing christian ' I see no problem in dating a non christian so long as they are whole supportive of there role. But marrying raises questions, imagine a hous group leader whose wife objects to a weekly invassion of her home! or a music team member who cannot make rehersals or services because his wife has other commitments?

Lk at what Jesus said about the responcibilities teacher/leaders have and what Paul wrote about leaders.

It is an awesome responcibility that needs to be taken seriously.

No a Christian does not ' fool ' around with anyone. They treat them with the respect they deserve, taking them as well as to date, but also regularly to church.

But what happens sometimes is they "fall in love" and then think they can help the other one become a believer.
