Let me know when you are ready to be honest and answer a simple question.
We are not under the law of Moses.JLB
Do you understand the difference between the Ten Commandments and the law of Moses? Like I asked a few times now- where do you see animal sacrifices in the Sabbath Commandments that is part of the Ten Commandments written by the finger of God. Exodus 20, Exodus 31:18
I’ll post it again for your reference.
Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day
is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who
is within your gates. 11 For
in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that
is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
You never did answer or address my post about the different sabbaths in the scripture.
Christ Jesus is our High Priest, not the Levitical priesthood. JLB
Absolutely, which we can go directly to Him for the forgiveness of sins and why we no longer need to have annuals sabbath(s) of animal sacrifices found in the law of Moses in ordinances because the blood of Christ is perfect for the forgiveness of sins when we repent and turn from sin. Sin is defined breaking God's law 1 John 3:4 and the law is what points out sin Romans 3:20, Romans 7:7 and breaking one of the commandments is like breaking them all James 2:10-12 which of course includes the Sabbath commandments (4th) that God said "Remember" which does not mean to "forget" the opposite of what God commanded.
For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar.
For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood. And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. Hebrews 7:12-16JLB
Notice it does not say all of the commandments of God ended and the law that ended was the Sabbath commandment. You seem to be adding this to God's Word. The law that was changed is the Priesthood. Jesus is our High Priest for the forgiveness of sin. It says so clearly in Hebrews 7 and not once mentions anything about that law being the seventh day Sabbath. We are warned about adding words to scripture. Proverbs 30:5-6
Hebrews 7:28 F
or the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law,
appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.
We do not observe the Sabbath according to the law of Moses.JLB
We obey the commandment according to the law of God written by God's own finger. The same law that says thou shalt not worship other gods, or vain God's precious name, the same law that says thou shalt not murder, covet, or commit adultery is the same law that GOD spoke and GOD wrote says Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. You keep wanting to reduce the commandments to nine and forget the one commandment God said to remember. God wrote a covenant of Ten Exodus 34:28 and we should never try to alter something that came directly from God.
For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. Hebrews 7:18-19JLB
Maybe you didn't notice this, but this scripture does not say the Sabbath commandment that God blessed, sanctified and is holy. That sure sounds like a different law to me and it is. It's best not to add our will to scriptures and let the scriptures speak for themselves.
In the New Covenant the laws and commandments are written on our heart and mind by Jesus Christ, who is the Mediator of the New Covenant.
Absolutely which is why we see the Ten Commandments repeated for everyday Christian living
The Law of God in the New Testament.
1. "You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve" (Matthew 4:10).
2. "Little children, keep yourselves from idols" (1 John 5:21). "Since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising" (Acts 17:29).
3. "That the name of God and His doctrine may not be blasphemed" (1 Timothy 6:1).
4. "He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: 'And God rested on the seventh day from all His works.' There remains therefore a rest ["keeping of a sabbath," margin] for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His" (Hebrews 4:4, 9, 10).
the rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment Luje 23:56
5. "Honor your father and your mother" (Matthew 19:19).
6. "You shall not murder" (Romans 13:9).
7. "You shall not commit adultery" (Matthew 19:18).
8. "You shall not steal" (Romans 13:9).
9. "You shall not bear false witness" (Romans 13:9).
10. "You shall not covet" (Romans 7:7).
The Law of God in the Old Testament.
1. "You shall have no other gods before Me" (Exodus 20:3).
2. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments" (Exodus 20:4–6).
3. "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain" (Exodus 20:7).
4. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it" (Exodus 20:8–11).
5. "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you" (Exodus 20:12).
6. "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13).
7. "You shall not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14).
8. "You shall not steal" (Exodus 20:15).
9. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" (Exodus 20:16).
10. "You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's" (Exodus 20:17).
Therefore we are to obey the law of Christ, and His Teachings and His Commandments.JLB
Jesus came to do the will of the Father and came to magnify the law (which mean make greater, not lesser) and we see examples of this that Jesus quoted directly from the Ten Commandments telling us we should keep the least of the commandments. Matthew 5:19-30 Jesus often taught on the Ten Commandments quoting from them Matthew 19:17-19 and told us that we should keep God's commandments quoting directly from the Ten over traditions of man. Matthew 15:3-9, Marl 7:6-8
Homework for you:
Please show through scripture where Sunday keeping is a commandment of God and where in scripture that the Sabbath commandment was replaced by the Sunday commandment?
Please show in scripture where God blessed the first day?
Please show in scripture where God told us to keep holy the first day?
Please show in scripture where the first day is the holy day of the Lord thy God?
Please show in scripture where God sanctified the first day?
Please show in scripture we will be worshipping the Lord on the first day in heaven?
Please show any scripture of the transfers from the seventh day to the first day authorized by God or Jesus? No one has the authority to change a commandment of God written by God's own finger but Him.
Please show in scripture where Jesus as His custom went to the Temple on the first day to read God's Word?
I can save you the trouble its not there. God reserves this scripture only for the seventh day Sabbath. Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11, Isaiah 58:13, Isaiah 66:23, Luke 4:16-22
For someone who quotes from the Ten Commandments on your signature Revelation 22:15 not listening to the Truth of scriptures is practicing a lie and comes with some warnings as you noted.
We are called to worship in Truth and Spirit. John 4:23-24
John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Ezekial 20:12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I
am the Lord who sanctifies them.
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. Colossians 2:13-17
JLB
Lets look through this passage in detail, which does not say the seventh day Sabbath commandment has been deleted, which you seem to be adding....
Colossians 2:14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
You have to look at the context. There is more than one Sabbath in the scripture and if you look at Colossians 2:14 it tells you want its referring to.
Col2:14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
The Ten Commandments is
God-written (finger of God), the law of Moses is
handwritten so right there you have your proof this is not talking about any of God's Ten Commandments.
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements
that was against us, which was contrary to us
This is most certainly not referring to any of the Ten Commandments.
1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and His commandments
are not grievous. So there appears to be a contradiction to Col 2:14 and the Ten Commandments. Since there are no contradictions in scripture, it must be referring to another law. The law of Moses was placed outside the ark of the covenant,
handwritten by Moses in a book as a witness against you,
Deuteronomy 31:24 God's law is not grievous
1 John 5:3. The law of Moses was added because of sin
Galatians 3:19, the law of God points out sin,
Romans 7:7,
Romans 3:20. The law of Moses contained curses
Deuteronomy 29:20-21,
Galatians 3:10 and made nothing perfect
Hebrews 7:19. The law of God is perfect
Psalms 19:7 and brings blessings and peace
Proverbs 29:18,
Psalms 119:165 the law of Moses in the book of ordinances ended with Jesus being our Perfect sacrifice.
Ephesians 2:15, Col 2:14-16,
Hebrews 8:13 not God's law which is ETERNAL and UNCHANGING
Matthew 5:17-19, Revelation 11:19
Colossians 2:14-16 is not referring to the Ten Commandments it is referring to the law of ordinances, not the COMMANDMENTS of God. Is there a sabbath(s) in the law of ordinances? Yes, and fits
Colossians 2:16 and is about food and drink and holy days called sabbath(s) in scripture which has nothing to do with the commandments of God that was before sin
Genesis 2:1-3 and is a memorial to God's Creation "Remember" the Sabbath day to keep holy
Exodus 20:8. The sabbath(s) feast days (animal and food offerings) is what ended, that is in the ordinances in the law of Moses, that was contrary to us and ended with Jesus as our Sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins and sanctification -See
Hebrews 10 which is what
Colossians 2:14-16 is referring to.
Another consideration why
Colossians 2:14-16 is not referring the seventh day Sabbath
Colossians 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. The Sabbath is not a shadow of anything, it points back to Creation "Remember" the Sabbath day to keep Holy and does not point to Christ on the cross.
The Sabbath day continues to be God's chosen day of worship for eternity:
Isaiah 66:23 just like God promised
Exodus 31:16
And if you don't believe any the scripture I posted, Col 2:17 talks about us judging, not that the one of the commandments of God that God commanded us to Remember and keep holy has been abolished. As I stated, there is no scripture stating that the seventh day Sabbath has been changed and the first day is God's new day of worship. The first day is a tradition of man and Jesus told us to obey the commandments of God over mans traditions. Matthew 15:3-9, Mark 7:6-8. We should always seek Truth of God’s Word.
