... probably because you didn't clarify what you meant by "evolution".

I've never come across a creationist who claims that microevolution has never been observed.

"Microevolution, or evolution on a small scale, is defined as a change in the frequency of gene variants, alleles, in a population over generations."
The only difference between micro and marco evolution are different scales. Creationist believe they are different but they are unable to explain what prevents the process of evolution scaling. Are you up for the challenge?

Are you up for the challenge?
Sure.

QV please:
Only what I've been saying all along: that evolution works to a point, then it hits a barrier that it just cannot cross.

God is a God of boundaries ...

Psalm 104:9a Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over;

... and evolution can go just so far, then has to stop.

Welcome to CF, ottawak.

Nice to meet you.
Same to you, I'm sure. One does not run across many devoted 1611ers any more these days. I am certainly fond of the KJV myself--although not now thought to be the most accurate translation, it has more literary merit than modern versions. As an Episcopalian I am used to the scriptural readings and Psalter in the Book of Common Prayer, which are all Coverdale's work and which strongly influenced the AV.

Well, it's nice to have you onboard.

If you decide to stick around (and I hope you do), you're in for some real challenges to your faith.

From all sides.

I praise the LORD for this site.

It does two things:
  1. Assists in fulfilling the Great Commission.
  2. Sharpens iron.

According to Darwinist folklore, humans evolved from bacteria.
Not strictly true. It would be more accurate to say that bacteria and humans evolved from our common ancestor.

I am not challenging religious belief in a barrier to scaling rather the challenge is to describe its origin and how the barrier prevents speciation.
You lost me there, chief.

The challenge is to describe what's origin? the barrier?

God is the origin.

As to the nature of the barrier itself, we don't know.

I speculate:
  1. sterility
  2. quota
  3. time
  4. extinction
  5. sentience obedience to divine fiat
  6. whatever

Interesting link, thanks. But I only wished to address the implication in Buzzard's post that humans evolved from something like modern bacteria, which have also evolved from whatever form our common ancestor took.

I started this thread some time ago, to show that those who believe in evolution don't know what we are:

What are we?

Creationists claim that evolution ends at the micro scale, and if true, it indicates a physical barrier to speciation. Other than religious belief what is the physical barrier preventing speciation?

Um ... religious belief is not a physical barrier.

I'm confused.

Its a nonsensical distinction.
Nonsense, quips, woo woo etc are the on.y kind of
" explanation" you will get. Stand by and watch the dance.

Interesting - I see this thread is still somewhat alive, with many of the same people posting the same sorts of dodges and nonsense.
Endless genealogies.

What prevents a random character generator from writing a story?

It's the same problem with Darwinism, you can only put so much down to blind luck.

Ah yes ... but then Darwinists pull out their "billions of years" card, which is like a magic wand that turns absurd impossibilities into reality.

Your random word generator could probably
write most anythjng, and pretty fast if it had
some feedback mechanism.

" Darwinism" is a word only used by creationists btw,
And likewise, the idea that "blind" luck ( as opposed to-?)
is the operating principle of evolution is just a
creationist thing. Or " creotrope" for short.
