Clare you are correct. I think I may have read more into the post than what was there. I jumped to thinking about replacement Theology.Apostolic teaching (as distinct from personal interpretation of prophetic riddles) disagrees with you.
The one olive tree going all the way back to Abraham is God's people (believers in the the Promise, Jesus Christ), both of the OT and the NT.
Except for a remnant, Israel has been cut off the olive tree of God's believing people (Romans 11:17, Romans 11:19-20) and has been hardened against saving faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 11:25).
Israel will be grafted back again into the olive tree of God's believing people if (not "when") they do not persist in unbelief (Romans 11:23).
