We are set free from the Law?? I don't understand "we" when I know gentiles have never been under the law. Paul must have been writing to Jews who were under the Law before Jesus ended the old covenant and replaced it with the new at Calvary.2 Corinthians 4:11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake,
that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
We are set free from the Law, only when we are dead to the Law.
Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, you also are become dead to the law
by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him
who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Yes, the law that Jesus gave to all mankind, love. Love others as Jesus loves us. 1Jn 3:19-24 19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.When we come together as the body of Christ, we have the opportunity to manifest Christ.
If we fail to manifest the fruit of the Spirit in our fellowship, we are still children, under the Law.
James 2:9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.
I don't know about David, but it was made as an everlasting covenant with Abraham. This is the sure mercies of David, that we accept the discipline of God by the Holy Spirit.
This "New" Covenant is not that new. It is the covenant God made with David.
Matt 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? ...To accept the Lord's correction, and repent.
That's what the Gospels and the Book of Acts teaches, that if we sin against the brethren
70 times, we repent 70 times, until Christ is fully formed in us, and we can have an edifying conversation, without the need to repent. Where the fruit of the Spirit manifests in these
and every other situation when we have to interact with other people, for when we judge
them instead, we judge ourselves, for in so many ways, we are the same.
Romans 2:1 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
He has shown us what He desires of us.
Micah 6:8. He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you, but to do justly,
To love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
Should we Americans be obedient to the mask law imposed by the president of Australia? Likewise should we be obedient to the ritual laws given to one nation, Israel and not any other nation?Amen --
God is all in favor of obedience and is always opposed to rebellion against His Word.
And obedience is only possible through the New Birth experience and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Christ died the death that the Law demands of each of us - that we might life the life that God desires us to live in Christ.
The result is that both God's Justice and His mercy are affirmed. Not one destroying the other.
Gentiles are grafted into Israel. Romans 11We are set free from the Law?? I don't understand "we" when I know gentiles have never been under the law. Paul must have been writing to Jews who were under the Law before Jesus ended the old covenant and replaced it with the new at Calvary.
Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live;I don't know about David, but it was made as an everlasting covenant with Abraham.
This is off topic brother Bob S, this is a discussion of spiritual principles, not Australian politics.Should we Americans be obedient to the mask law imposed by the president of Australia? Likewise should we be obedient to the ritual laws given to one nation, Israel and not any other nation?

That is not what Rom 11 is telling us. First off the covenant with Israel was not about their salvation, it was about how they were to live after slavery in Egypt. the Abrahamic covenant was about salvation. The covenant with Israel ended at Calvary. Israel cannot and never could give nor grant life. Being grafted into Israel makes no sense.Gentiles are grafted into Israel. Romans 11
Yes, it is called the new covenant as per Heb 8. Israel evidently didn't accept God's everlasting Abrahamic covenant and they also didn't accept the conditional Sinai covenant. Their branches fell off the Tree leaving room for gentiles to be grafted in. God once again offeres Israel and also gentiles the new eternal covenant of everlasting life.Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you—
Acts 13 does not prove that it was a covenant. The sure mercies of David.
Acts 13:34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return
to corruption, he said on this wise,
I will give you the sure mercies of David.
Messiah fulfills all the promises made to David, and his covenant of mercy
triumphs over judgment.
Oh for goodness sake MM have some grace. I was merely making a similarity. Israel's rules were not necessarily like our rules. If you cannot see that well....This is off topic brother Bob S, this is a discussion of spiritual principles, not Australian politics.
Follow your conscience, if you are born from above.
Are you implying that I did?Probably not - are you implying that the God of the Bible is not the "Christian God"??
Did Paul make such a claim?
Did Christ make such a claim?
Was it for no reason that Messiah had to be a descendant of David?Acts 13 does not prove that it was a covenant.
Romans 11 is directed at Gentiles, to understand their place beside Israel. Does it have toBeing grafted into Israel makes no sense.
I see that just fine. I don't see the need to bring in Australian law and how it pertains toOh for goodness sake MM have some grace. I was merely making a similarity. Israel's rules were not necessarily like our rules. If you cannot see that well....
They are the branches, they didn't "fall off". . .they were cut off (John 15:2), broken offThat is not what Rom 11 is telling us.
