Each of us is the protagonist of our own story if we look at our own lives as pieces of a far greater story. When I was younger, I would have cast myself as the hero of my tale, but I have begun to see how I could be the antagonist of someone else's story.

That is sobering.

Considering the later years of Solomon's reign, I have become attuned to how sin has developed in my own life.

Yeah, I can relate to your thinking you were the hero in your youth but that changed pretty drastically when I met the Lord. Now I see myself as another saved sinner whose good works that I championed are seen as filthy rags.

Solomon is granted wisdom and blessings in his youth, but he ignored all wisdom and made choices which negatively impacted us all ever since.

I am often surprised at how sin seems to sneak up on me, yet, on reflection, it seems obvious that I was making choices which made falling into sin inevitable.

I was just thinking today about a quote from Mike Tyson the boxer of all people that relates to how Christians deal with the devil, "Everyone has a plan until they're smacked in the mouth". And yeah, we've all fallen for the devils subtlety.
