Their latest report, published Thursday November 25th covers data on infections, hospitalisations and deaths from Week 43 to Week 46 of 2021 (October 25th – November 21st).

The report reveals that there were 833,332 recorded Covid-19 cases, 9,094 Covid-19 hospitalizations and 3,700 Covid-19 deaths from October 25th to November 21st. Of these the un-vaccinated accounted for 39% of all cases, 34% of all hospitalizations, and 19% of all deaths. Whilst the vaccinated accounted for 61% of all cases, 66% of all hospitalizations, and 81% of all deaths.

UK uses AstraZeneca in high numbers, which is not used by almost any other country. Thus, UK is not a good general example.

Most of the world uses vaccines from BioNtech or Moderna and these have better results.

The Astrazenica/Oxford vaccine is about 63% affective against symptomatic COVID. Moderna is nearly 95% affective.

Britain is one of the most vaccinated nations on earth. 88.5% have received at least one dose.

Personally I don't care about statistics, conjectures and theories. I look at the personal predicament. I trust that those who are top experts in medicine and science are working hard to save us. Ours is to do as we are told, in order to survive. Prayer is vital to strengthen us, God gave humanity good intelligence and the ability to work together to overcome everything. If we cooperate with each other.

Surely you have no protection at all otherwise.
Members of my own extended family are antijabbers and this fills me with dread. I cannot understand why anyone would choose to reject what our best scientific and medical and government advice is urging.
Please think of yourself and those you love and don't reject the only lifelines we have got. Many have already perished through stubborn misguided views.
It is no coincidence that this new variant has come about in Africa, where vaccinated levels are so low. Why is this anyway? Why such low uptake?

There is a bigger problem: people quoting figures and data without understanding what they mean. It's most amusing when they quote statistics that demonstrate the exact opposite of what they are claiming.

It's not clear how effective current vaccines are against this new variant. Odds are, it will have a degree of effect, but less than for the Alpha variant.

Indeed, none of us are qualified or remotely able to understand or make any judgement whatsoever about the covid virus! We actually have no choice but to take the vaccines if we wish to survive. Do people think scientists and doctors are fools? They have years of experience and knowledge. We don't.

Anti-vaxxers have no future. Their lives will become impossible as they lose jobs and are banned from everywhere. Governments will take decisions to protect the majority, quite rightly. They have a responsibility.
The worst danger right now is anyone who is unvaccinated is surely very vulnerable. At least those of us already jabbed have some degree of protection in our bodies. If this new variant is able to get through that, we can still rely on science to develop vaccines to combat it. Meanwhile our role is to obey those who are working hard to save us, not rebel against them.

I have a degree in microbiology, did graduate work in immunology, and operated an allergy-immunology service in the AF. So I have some understanding of the issues.

We actually have no choice but to take the vaccines if we wish to survive. Do people think scientists and doctors are fools? They have years of experience and knowledge. We don't.

Fact is, most of us will live even if we don't take the vaccine. But a lot more people will die if we don't. It won't be like the plague that took out one of three in Europe. Presently, it's killed about one American for every 412 of us. That's approaching a million dead. Over twice the number of American troops dying from all causes during WWII.

That's horrible enough.

Meanwhile our role is to obey those who are working hard to save us, not rebel against them.

Our role is to become educated in the issues and try to make the best choice we can. The problem is the internet is full of unscrupulous and even crazy people with all sorts of weird stories to tell.
