They were, yes. The Gospel of the Kingdom, the good news of God governing mankind among mankind once again. Not a popular concept among self serving man and our institutions including religion. Their day will be done. The god of this world, mammon, gone. The salvation gospel that became the controlling narrative was an add on but definitely not the main gospel. It's not about us and what we can get out of what Jesus accomplished. It is about the will of the Father and His return. Why does man want to continually put himself first? Selfish self centred lot.
The government came to earth, hence why the Kingdom of God is within us, that means they with the Kingdom of God in them are governed by God now.
It explains why the Kingdom does not come with observation, why would you be looking out for what is already in you?
Salvation is by Gods living testimony, man gives testimony that is not alive. The difference between believing in the risen Lord, or hearing man that i dead while they live.
