Well the poster I was replying to seems to think immigrants only vote for Democrats and that is why Democrats are so pro-immigrant. I certainly don’t believe that immigrants only vote one way.
It’s like this…after several years to obtain a green card and taking classes and applying for citizenship and finally after more than a decade, a person is going to choose which of the two* major parties they are going to belong to…
Will they choose, the one which fought tooth and nail to keep them from being allowed to become a citizen, or the one that tried to make it easier?

*assuming we still have a two-party system

Do you consider it "vague" if someone decides to take your car, and the police come do an assessment of it value, and tell you to bad it was within the legal limit to take? You worked for it for you to drive and use. Your personal property. Not any longer though.
Punctuation is our friend.

Again to you as well. Show them the plight of those living in the inner cities that are rampant with the homeless, rampant with gun and gang violence. Then show them the plight of your own. Ask them is this better for you? If they say no, let them stay, but when you do, provide something better for your own while you are at it.

Maybe they have made the decision that, no matter how bad living in America might be, it’s still better than where they left all of those days and miles ago?

Also, LOL “Better go back, it stinks living here!”, yeah, that’ll fool ‘em!

I believe it is because this is not really that important at the ballot box as people claim. This and many other issues as well because the same people keep getting voted back into Congress. Politicians will say whatever gets the vote and then they point fingers as to why they can’t get promises done. At re-election time they get voted in again despite being ineffective.

You want change then use your vote.
Immigration is the new “overturn Roe!” (nothing substantive is done, legislatively, but keep it as the forefront of the GOP’s rank & file), now that it looks as if the Roe-goal is within sight.

Do you think the Haitians would be rebuking the "American" BLM people for the hatred of America? Or do you think they'd join right in with them?

Nothing is done because only a small minority of Democrats want what is going on.

You live in the U.S.
YOU KNOW THEY CAUGHT THEM AND THEN RELESED THEM.
Why do they treat human beings like animals by "catching" them to begin with? Would you like it if they "caught" your parents or grandparents like animals also? It's not in line with my Christian values or God's Word.

They didn't treat them like animals. They treated them like trespassers.

They shouldn't have treated them like either, but they did treat them like animals.

Well, they were trespassers. And if they were acting like animals, then the shoe fit.

Begin quote
"Applying for Asylum or Refugee Status
One major difference between applications for asylum or refugee status is where the application is made. Refugees are required to apply from outside the United States, whereas people requesting asylum must apply either at a US border (airports, seaports) or from within the US." End quote
I mean, you just confirmed exactly what he said.

BLM “hates America”? Where’s that on their website or anywhere?

And every other nation in between....

They didn't apply for asylum in Mexico, and they aren't continuing into Canada.

So when people whine about this country, they should talk to some of these people...it might lend some perspective.

It was my grandparents, not me. But they were taken in by a poor nation with its own problems, much poorer than the USA and with many more problems and starving people and children than the USA, but they let my grandparents as children and teens walk right in across their border and they helped them get on their feet and fed and clothed and housed them. This is a poor nation that did this for them, a nation nowhere near as wealthy as America.

That poor country didn't have much to lose, did it?

When you consider the state of homelessness, joblessness, healthcare, and the pandemic...it doesn't seem like a good time to add millions and millions of impoverished and uneducated people manual laborers we don't need.

It's also worth noting that we pollute more than any other nation (when it comes to climate change) and when we move populations from areas where they pollute very little into an area where they pollute a lot...

I shouldn't have to draw you a picture. We can't hope to improve our efforts to affect climate change that way. The more people who come here, if we hope to slow climate change, the less we can live the way we live. We'll have to live the way they live.

If I wanted to live like them, I'd move to one of the awful countries they're fleeing.

Beyond that, there's the obvious point that we are basically helping a multinational human trafficking criminal organization not only flourish, but set up shop right here in the US.

They were not trespassers, and people act like animals when they are treated like animals - you or I or anyone else would do the same. It's an extremely disdainful attitude you are showing towards these human beings. They need help, not hatred and more torment.

They didn't have much to share but apparently the morality they possess is high enough to share with people who are human beings on the verge of death. I don't know what more to tell you; you don't seem to understand this if you have to ask and I have to explain it to you.

When you consider the state of homelessness, joblessness, healthcare, and the pandemic...it doesn't seem like a good time to add millions and millions of impoverished and uneducated people manual laborers we don't need.
So you're saying that America is not the greatest or wealthiest nation in the world and can't handle any more people? I disagree. We are the wealthiest nation in th world and can help both our own and people from other parts of the world. I believe the inscription on the Statue of Liberty even if you disagree with it. What country/ies do you consider to be more wealthy and powerful than the US?

It's also worth noting that we pollute more than any other nation (when it comes to climate change) and when we move populations from areas where they pollute very little into an area where they pollute a lot...
Wrong. China pollutes more than any other nation on earth, more than double what the US does.

I shouldn't have to draw you a picture. We can't hope to improve our efforts to affect climate change that way. The more people who come here, if we hope to slow climate change, the less we can live the way we live. We'll have to live the way they live.
Thank you for making the case for the US implementing the Green New Deal - I agree that we need to do that immediately and it's a shame and disgrace that the US is a top polluter. It's something we need to do no matter what, but especially as we bring in more people.

If I wanted to live like them, I'd move to one of the awful countries they're fleeing.
When did anyone ask you to "live like them"? Now you're making things up.

Beyond that, there's the obvious point that we are basically helping a multinational human trafficking criminal organization not only flourish, but set up shop right here in the US.
Not obvious because it's not true. That's a completely false and made-up fairy tale completely fabricated.

....yea, the poster may learn what their motives are. But hey, if one doesn't understand what capitalism is, I suppose it's a lost cause.
