My family is in poverty. My son is 15 and is being forced into a gang. I have the opportunity to use all that I have to hire (with others) a bus to take my son to the US border where he might be accepted in or not. Desperation maybe, but not child abuse.

Then people from these countries need to know that kids in the USA are being forced into gangs too. Sadly, our country isn't immune from that.

Our system to take care of these children - within the system - isn't all that much better either. So, you have all these abandon kids that come here - into a system that can be just as corrupt as what they left at times. It maybe different in some aspects, but can be just as cruel.

We also need to think abut the 'accepted or not' part. What happens to them if they aren't?

Congress needs to think of a way to take on these cases starting from where these individuals are, and of course we have been saying that for 40+ years....so we all know how truly concerned they are and where that is on the priority list.

So they leave a country they feel don't care about them, into another fractured system that may feed them...but sadly not much more.

This whole thing is just heart breaking.

Both parties are equal in wanting to be majority in power, so the question still remains- Why don’t Republicans appeal to immigrant citizens?

Joe needs to be held accountable for promoting such ideas. This has to stop, how many have died or ended up in human trafficking? The cartels are placing bracelets on them to track them.

Our government should care less. Actions speak louder than words.

I mean if Joe (or any other administration) cared? You would find ways of slowing the trend to come here. I mean according to the current administration? They have someone in charge to find out the 'root causes' of why people are flooding the border. I mean after 40+ years of this type of thing going on its finally TIME to find the 'root cause'. Talk about disingenuous.

They all know that - using your example - the people will continue to be used in the human trafficking thing once they get into this country too. NOT talking about it pretends to show their compassion and pretend it is only a problem 'there'. The dangerous drug flow? HEY - we have another way to throw money around, but not bother with the 'root cause' and STILL show they we are doing something by throwing government funds around for the programs! Worried about all those abandoned kids? Fractured families don't matter, and they will throw in how you don't care about these people if you point it out.

Actions speak louder than political yacking it to death! Political yacking WINS, and that means they don't care. I mean how many generations does it take for an administration to assign someone to find out the 'root causes'? Plenty. The way our government moves to announce what they have found out? A couple more. Than additional generations to figure out what to do about the 'root causes'. That way it is outdated, and they can say they tried REALLY hard...and move on.

Priorities here. Priorities. In the meantime? They will find distractions other than the crisis at the border to talk to death about, and claim how horrified they are about those instead. Talking in true terms about human trafficking, the drugs flowing in, and the cartels that are in charge? That's to close to showing the consequences of them NOT finding the 'root causes', and they will acknowledge it for 1/2 a second before moving on to their next distractions so you won't stop and let that marinate around a bit.

By pure numbers, there are more registered Democrats than registered Republicans, and in elections, Democratic voters tend to outnumber Republican voters in many states, though gerrymandering does result in Republicans having a disproportionate amount of reps elected regardless. This also doesn't take into account the fact that there are no immigration bills even being talked about right now. The last bill to be discussed and even voted on was back in 2013. Since that bill was bipartisan and passed the Senate, I imagine any new bill is going to be pretty closely modeled on that. And that bill required people granted amnesty to wait 10 years before getting a green card, and the process to become a citizen after that requires at least 3-5 years more. I don't see why the possibility they might vote for the Democrats 15 years in the future would influence current-day border policy. And of course, this leaves out the sheer number of people that Biden has deported, most of them under a public health order issued by Trump that means they don't get a hearing.

How would the Biden administration give them voting rights? Who is allowed to vote in federal elections is set by law, and there is no way a law allowing non-citizens to vote will ever pass, and each state regulates who can vote in their own elections.

I agree with Biden. Immigrants from all over the world contribute to all that is great about the US.

Immigrants which are legally made citizens, make this country great. A melting pot. That is not what this is.

So many parents in inner cities can say the same about their children. But they are not offered an escape. Their children die daily without so much a peep.

And how many democrats support what is going on at the border. You nor anyone else has any right to put this on all democrats. Sure the socialists and the communists in that party will support it. Not all democrats are Communists and socialists, or marxists.
