Just curious if any Catholics use The Book of Common prayer for their daily readings?

If we wanted to we have the Book of Divine Worship, adapted from the BCP for the Anglican Ordinariate. So we know it squares with the Church.

Just looked it up and it seems nice. It's pretty expensive! At least on Amazon.

I would even buy if not for the price. Too expensive for my blood right now since I have been out of work for the last month and will still be out another two weeks.

I understand, I bought a Fr. Lasance Missal last year that set me back a pretty penny too (about $70). Haven't even been able to use it because I couldn't bring it with me when I moved...but these are nice things to have if you eventually have a little extra spending money at some point.

I found a PDF of the Book of Divine Worship online for free.

So far, at least in regards to the daily readings and the Psalter, it's the same as the Book of Common Prayer.

I read awhile back that that book no longer uses masculine pronouns for God. Barf.

That is the 2019 Book of Common Prayer which was approved for use in the Anglican community here in the states. The episcopal church still uses the 1979 Book of Common Prayer and as far as I know, has no plans to use the 2019 version at this time.

The printing was fairly small and the Ordinariate purchased most of the printing for their various parishes to distribute. The price at my nearest Ordinariate parish is $25, but that may be a subsidized price. Probably. Anyhow, to find an Ordinariate parish see: Parish Finder

I noticed this tutorial just yesterday: Ordinariate Priest Gives Video Tutorial on Praying with Divine Worship: Daily Office

Would that be the North American version, or the Commonwealth version. Substantially the same but the Commonwealth version has many more readings included. Apparently using the North American version with the 1928 BCP as a supplement works out about the same. Or so I've heard. Or the other version I have heard is a BCP and a Bible works out about the same. I need to get one and see for myself.

I have a book called "Common Prayer" written by a left-leaning Christian guy who likes to imitate monks named Shane Claiborne, but I don't have the Book of Common Prayer.
Very different I suspect. The BCP is an Anglican thing. There are various editions available, among them 1928 and 1979 and apparently now 2019. The reason it gets interesting for Catholics is that the Ordinariate guys have a new approved version which is fully Catholic and largely based on the 1928 BCP. It is stirring some interest. And rightly so.

Well, that depends on the edition. 1928 is standard but a bit dated English, AKA sacral English, with all of the pronouns as expected. I don't know for sure about anything later for sure. The Ordinariate version is apparently following the 1928 version but I have not proven that with my own eyes. The new Ordinariate version appears to be a worthy book, and I am trying to get one.

Man that name takes me back, he's a total hippie. He basically started a quasi-Marxist movement that was completely rooted in an errant exegesis of Acts 4:32.

The 1928 BCP is what most of the continuing Anglican communities use, IIRC. I know the APCK does, anyway.

Okay. I received the Divine Worship: Daily Office yesterday and it is not what I expected or had hoped for.

I was looking for it to include the two-year cycle of the Daily Office lectionary. Not the actual text of the readings themselves, just the list of the readings.

I guess until I can afford the Book of Divine Worship I will continue to use the Book of Common Prayer.
