  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lol so the vaccinated are getting covid 19?

This pandemic has been going on for 18 months and the vaccines have been available since the end of last year. The main topic of news broadcasts, blogs, free to air and streaming programmes, chats in forums, pubs, bars, facebook, twitter, Youtube, around kitchen tables, water bubblers and literally anywhere where people get to talk to each other has been vaccines.

And you just found out that they're not 100% effective?

Or, after a year? We have to wait and see.

You have to remember, this vaccine was rushed into use...

Exactly -- when in the long history of vaccines has it ever taken a year for side-effects of a vaccine to show up? You didn't answer the question. It's never happened, has it?
You have to remember, this vaccine was rushed into use...
I also have to remember that it was tested just as thoroughly (more thoroughly, in fact) as every other vaccine. So why does the speed matter?

Vaccines, by their biological nature, can not have effects that don't occur until long after administration. Whatever the vaccine is going to do, it must do it very quickly because the body oxidizes vaccines within days.

The vaccine is certainly designed to cause an effect within that time, and the intention is that the effect will be as designed and the effect itself long-lasting. But whatever effect the vaccine has, it will be happen very quickly and not take some "long term" period to manifest itself.

Noted, though, that the effect may be subtle and take careful examination to reveal, but it will have already occurred within a short period of time even if subtle.

The only hurdle the vaccines had not yet passed when the FDA gave emergency approval was the six-month test for efficacy. That hurdle has been passed at this point. Right now the FDA is dealing with the bureaucratic details...they're not still undecided if they're going to approve it.

Can't wait for the anti vaxxers to shift their argument from 'the vaccines haven't been FDA approved yet so I'm not taking it' to 'I don't trust the government so I'm not taking it'.

When in the long history of vaccines have there been effects that didn't show up in the first few weeks?

When, in the long history of vaccines, was an mRNA vaccine deployed to millions after less than a year of testing?

And effects have shown up, and the information is being suppressed.

Historically, the safety of medications—including vaccines—is often not fully understood until they are deployed in large populations. Examples include rofecoxib (Vioxx), a pain reliever that increased the risk of heart attack and stroke; antidepressants that appeared to increase suicide attempts among young adults; and an influenza vaccine used in the 2009-10 swine flu epidemic that was suspected of causing febrile convulsions and narcolepsy in children. Evidence from the real world is valuable, as clinical trials often enroll patients who aren’t representative of the general population. We learn more about drug safety from real-world evidence and can adjust clinical recommendations to balance risk and benefits.

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS, which is administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration, is a database that allows Americans to document adverse events that happen after receiving a vaccine. The FDA and CDC state that the database isn’t designed to determine whether the events were caused by a vaccine. This is true. But the data can nonetheless be evaluated, accounting for its strengths and weaknesses, and that is what the CDC and FDA say they do.

The VAERSdata for Covid-19 vaccines show an interesting pattern. Among the 310 million Covid-19 vaccines given, several adverse events are reported at high rates in the days immediately after vaccination, and then fall precipitously afterward. Some of these adverse events might have occurred anyway. The pattern may be partly attributable to the tendency to report more events that happen soon after vaccination.

Four serious adverse events follow this arc, according to data taken directly from Vaers: low platelets (thrombocytopenia); noninfectious myocarditis, or heart inflammation, especially for those under 30; deep-vein thrombosis; and death. Vaers records 321 cases of myocarditis within five days of receiving a vaccination, falling to almost zero by 10 days. Prior research has shown that only a fraction of adverse events are reported, so the true number of cases is almost certainly higher. This tendency of underreporting is consistent with our clinical experience.

...
Analyses to confirm or dismiss these findings should be performed using large data sets of health-insurance companies and healthcare organizations. The CDC and FDA are surely aware of these data patterns, yet neither agency has acknowledged the trend.

Your source is out of date - the CDC has a specific mention of myocardtis as a potential side effect on their web site. Heck, you've even quoted from a paper where the CDC did additional investigation of this issue. Weird you'd now post a source claiming that never happened.
