  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

All of the Texas Democrats in D.C., including those who have tested positive for COVID-19, are 'fully vaccinated,' and have been since March.

Texas Democrats jetting to D.C. without masks

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 21, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The number of Texas Democrats who have contracted COVID-19 after fleeing the state to block a Republican voting bill has risen to at least six.

A spokesperson for the Texas Democratic Caucus confirmed to NBC News on Monday that a sixth lawmaker tested positive for the virus and has begun quarantining. The caucus will cease providing a daily COVID-19 case count, the spokesperson added.

Last week, more than 50 Democrats from the Texas House flew to Washington, D.C., chartering a private jet and foregoing masks, which are required for commercial airline passengers in the U.S. who are older than two. They also were photographed with a case of Miller Lite.

I have a nurse friend that is fully vaccinated and got Covid. She had to isolate. But she was asymptomatic and had no idea until her spouse got it and had some pretty horrific symptoms. I think the mask is going to come back.

I think the mask is going to come back.

I'm not putting the mask back on. I'm vaccinated. The deal was that if I got the vaccine, I no longer had to wear the mask. So I got the vaccine.

Besides, the democrat party wants people wearing the mask at all times because it's a way of signifying that the average person is muzzled and has no voice. Everything that they want to do has some sort of a symbolic reason behind it.

Deal with whom? The virus? it don't work that way. Democrats have nothing to do with it.

Deal with whom?

The deal with the politically correct losers, whiny democrat politicians, and society in general.

Under no circumstance am I putting a mask back on until Flu season starts (I kept my masks specifically for flu season, because I do not get flu shots as I'll get sick for a week anyway so there is no point). I will go wherever I want without a mask on, and no one is going to do anything about it, because I got the vaccine.

I don’t think you understand. Even being fully vaccinated, you can spread it. It happened to some friends of ours just recently. I know the narrative constantly changes but you can still get Covid and be asymptotic but carry it to others. I’m vaccinated and have to go to the hospital tomorrow. Guess what? I have to wear a mask.

You're right, I don't understand it at all. if getting the vaccine means that you can still get it, then what's the point of getting the vaccine? Did I just get shot up with some weird thing that did something to my cells but isn't going to protect me from the virus??

The narrative is constantly changing from the media regarding this virus, so I'm starting to really doubt that the CDC even knows anything about it, how it spreads, who it affects, etc. I mean, I might be ok because I'm only 35, but I thought that the whole point of getting the vaccine was that you wouldn't get it. That was the entire reason why I got the vaccine.

Guess what? I have to wear a mask.

Yeah I'm not putting a mask back on until Flu season. I think that the masks don't really do much anyway, but I'd wear one during flu season because I don't get flu shots as they just make me miserably sick for a week anyway and I'm better off gambling with getting the flu but taking the precaution of not getting it by wearing the mask. The mask thing wouldn't bother me anywhere near as much if I didn't wear glasses, but I put the mask on and then my glasses fog up and I can't see where I'm going or what I'm doing. I've debated getting a construction respirator because those don't make my glasses fog up, but again-- I thought the whole point of getting the vaccine was so you wouldn't have to put on a mask. Only a few people in my parish are still wearing masks, but I assume that those people are immune-compramized already so I don't blame them.

I have a feeling that Obiden is going to try and use the "delta variant" to shut everything down and start handing out money to people again anyway, but remember that I am a paranoid schizoaffective so everything that the government does makes me wary.

It protects the person vaccinated from getting life threatening symptoms that could kill them. But you can be spreading it to others while being asymptotic. So I wear it for others and just follow the rules.

I honestly feel like I already had Covid19 in December of 2019. I was horrendously sick for two weeks, had the symptoms and even went to the doctor but the doctor did not know what I had, sent me in for tests, and still couldn't determine what it was. I got the vaccine anyway because my mom is in her 60s and I didn't want her to get sick.

Fair enough. Like I said, I'll wear it again during flu season but I'm just considering getting a construction respirator so that my glasses don't fog up.

Not in December of 2019, unless you had personally been in Wuhan China. But there are lots of other possibilities.

I stay tuned to disease outbreaks and first heard of this in the closing days of 2019 when it was still a China only problem but people were on planes headed all over the world from China.

I first heard about it in December 2019 from Tim Pool. He was saying that it was going to become a big deal and nobody seemed to believe him at the time.

I have my own paranoid theories as to the origin of the virus. I believe it was leaked from a lab. Whether that was deliberate or not, I haven't speculated on.

Study Suggests Covid-19 Was In The U.S. Weeks Earlier Than Thought, Before First Public Cases In China

You may be right. I remember a very virulent sickness ripping through my workplace around that time, and places weren't really testing for it yet. Travel from Wuhan to the US wasn't stopped until late January 2020. Wuhan had reports of a "mystery illness" at their hospitals throughout the previous fall, long before their lockdowns. And who knows how accurate the early COVID testing kits were.

I was annoyed that the party of environmentalism would use a private jet for this publicity stunt. Now they are super spreaders, too. What do they actually believe in?
Themselves.

Study Suggests Covid-19 Was In The U.S. Weeks Earlier Than Thought, Before First Public Cases In China

I had something nasty for like two weeks back in December of 2019. All the symptoms of covid19, bad enough that I went to a walk in clinic and tests were run but the doctor was stumped as to what I had and just said that it was "parainfluenza most likely" and that there was nothing that they could do, but I remember it was a battle just to drag myself ten feet from the bed to the bathroom to use the toilet. I could keep food down, but I had no sense of smell or taste and survived on chicken soup for like two weeks. It's the sickest I've been in years and I don't normally get the flu shot (I got the flu shot once and was miserably sick for like a week, so I don't see a point anymore).

My immune system seems pretty good for being overweight and having a history of drug abuse. It surprises me, but I count it as a blessing.
