Studying Revelations will help. The saints are in heaven before God's wrath starts.

Really.

Rev 7
9 After these things I looked, and here was an enormous crowd that no one could count, made up of persons from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb dressed in long white robes, and with palm branches in their hands. 10 They were shouting out in a loud voice,

“Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

11 And all the angels stood there in a circle around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying,

“Amen! Praise and glory,
and wisdom and thanksgiving,
and honor and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”

13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These dressed in long white robes—who are they and where have they come from?” 14 So I said to him, “My lord, you know the answer.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb! 15 For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple, and the one seated on the throne will shelter them. 16 They will never go hungry or be thirsty again, and the sun will not beat down on them, nor any burning heat, 17 because the Lamb in the middle of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

The people from all nations , tribes , peoples and language are the believing church after the Gospel age.
Immediately after the GT they are seen before the throne having their tears wiped away etc etc.
as seen here after the righteous judgment of God.

Rev 21

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had ceased to exist, and the sea existed no more. 2 And I saw the holy city—the new Jerusalem—descending out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Look! The residence of God is among human beings. He will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more—or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.”

5 And the one seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new!” Then he said to me, “Write it down, because these words are reliable and true.” 6 He also said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one who is thirsty I will give water free of charge from the spring of the water of life. 7 The one who conquers will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Peter and Paul were correct to say that immediately after the Gt Christ would come taking vengeance and to Glorify all who did believe through his appearing a second time..

This is where Christ has returned and is on earth, He is no longer in Heaven. He is now on earth in the temple where the nations of every tongues that are saved are clothed in white robes are around the throne of God and the Lamb. CORRECTION: This I believe is after the thousand years.

Before this Christ was in heaven as the Lamb of God. Revelations 5 shows the Lame about to open the seals, and the Lamb is worshiped by the four and twenty elders, who are the redeemed that went to heaven first, before the wrath was poured out. Revelation 5:9, "And they sang a new song, saying thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thous wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by the blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nations.

It is these saints that were raptured (the four and twenty elders) in heaven praising the Lamb (Christ) that will return with Christ, and they are among those who will be worshiping Christ in the Temple on earth in Revelations 7 during the thousand years. CORRECTION: At one point the saints will be with Christ and God in the temple during the thousand years. Then afterward the thousand years, I believe New Jerusalem comes down from heaven. I need to look at those two events more closely in scriptures.

This is New Jerusalem that comes down from Heaven. This is where the wrath is over. The saints have returned with Christ from heaven and worship him on earth. The war of armageddon is over. God and Jesus dwells with man (saved saints) on earth in New Jerusalem. CORRECTION: Again there is a period of the thousand years, where satan is bound. Then after the war with Gog and Ma-gog, I is the end because satan will be thrown in the lake of fire. I believe that after that is where New Jerusalem comes down, and there is a new heaven and new earth. But again, the part about the thousand years and the temple in Jerusalem, and then New Jerusalem, I need more study.

1Thess 5
Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. 7 For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. 8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

I have highlighted the part I would like you to focus on , especially the underlined part.

It is clear that we are still present on earth as the day of the Lord does not overtake us. The day of the Lord can only overtake us if we are still here yes.?

Its our perseverance through affliction that protects us from his wrath when the Lord comes in flaming fire to dish out eternal destruction and also Glorify his own.....1st century believers included

2Thess 1
3 We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; 4 therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. 5 This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. 6 For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed.

Hi Jeff,

You ask -

It is clear that we are still present on earth as the day of the Lord does not overtake us. The day of the Lord can only overtake us if we are still here yes.?

Actually it wont overtake us for we will see it coming. (Heb. 10: 25) We will be gathering more and more together in small groups to encourage and exhort, (warn) one another, as God`s word says.

God`s word tells us to `look for His appearing,` for there is a crown laid up for those who do.

`Finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous Judge will give me on that day, and not only me but also ALL WHO have loved His appearing.` (2 Tim. 4: 8)

However many will be busy about their own lives and also men`s heart`s failing from fear and the expectation of things coming on the world. (Luke 21: 26)

So important to be watching, expectant.

The two events won't happen at the same time. All the Apostles knew about Christ's second coming. John who is an apostle wrote Revelations and he gives us a more detailed account about this. Dealing with Revelations you see the Lamb opening up the seals, then the trumpets, then the vials. The seals, trumpets, and vials are all the same event but with each one expounding more on the events that's taking place. We really have to study Revelations, other bible prophecy, and the new testament to know what's really going on. You can't just use a few scriptures in the gospel to talk about Christ's return without studying Daniel, Zachariah, Micah, Revelations, Isaiah, Ezekiel. Also Matthew 25 goes over what's going on related to the subject of Christ's coming.

So before God's wrath is poured out on the earth, the Body of Christ is already in Heaven. We know this based on Revelations 5:9, before the Lamb opens up the seals. Because the Body of Christ who is called the four and twenty elders are praising Christ saying, "Thou are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And has made us unto our God kings and priest; and we shall reign on the earth." Now the angels and beast are around the throne also. Revelations 6 is when the first wrath of God starts upon the earth. The saints are in heaven already.

The saints come back with Christ to earth and stand on Mount Zion with Him, Revelation 14:1-4. The Body of Christ is part of the 144 thousand standing on Mount Zion. All of the 144 thousand have been redeemed by Christ. Read Revelation 14. Revelations 14:4 says they are virgins. Apostle Pauls says he present the church a chase virgin to Christ, (2 Corinthians 11:2):That's why they are virgins. The Kingdom of Heaven will be liken unto ten virgins...to meet the bridegroom (Matthew 25:1013): that's why they are virgins.

Hi biblelesson,

I agree with all you wrote in your first two paragraphs. Very well said.

However the last paragraph I would like to talk with you about.

Where does it say in God`s word that the Body of Christ comes back to earth?
Oh now I see you are connecting with the word `virgin.` Paul tells HIS disciples that he wants to present them pure to the Lord. They are his disciples and that is his desire for THEM. Paul does not present us to the Lord. It is the Lord Himself who will present us to Himself.

`Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy...` (Jude 24)

The `virgins` in the parable of the wedding feast has to do with Israel, (the wife, Isa. 54: 6) having been divorced (Jer. 3: 8) will again be connected, (married) to her husband, master. (Isa. 54: 5)

Nothing to do with the BODY of Christ which as you rightly said is in heaven, around the Lord`s own throne.

Hi jeff,

I would say that the Great multitude come out of the great tribulation over time. They die of hunger, heat and thirst. (Rev. 7: 16) They are before the throne of God and waiting for their inheritance. And that is on the new earth.

`And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it.` (Rev. 21: 24)

The Body of Christ is not known by the different ethnic groups, for we are the ekklesia, the called out ones, called out from Israel and called out from the nations. No distinction in the Body of Christ.

Hi biblelesson,

Glad you are thinking over what you are saying. That is good for all of us in a discussion. Now no where in God`s word does the Body of Christ come back to earth. We rule and reign from the highest.

Also the Lord comes with His mighty angels, delivers Israel, judges the nations and sets up His rule through Israel over the nations (as promised) in the millennium. Israel will have a regent king, named David who will rule in Israel. (Ez. 37: 24, Jer. 30: 9)

The Lord returns to His seat of power and authority in the highest.

Jesus will rule on earth! Jesus will sit on David's throne!

Where does it say that Jesus will rule ON the earth?

That would make Him ruling at His footstool. (Isa. 66: 1)
And below where Lucifer was kingpriest.
Below the angels,
Below where Satan rules from.
Below, below, below, whereas God the Father made Jesus -

`far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.` (Eph. 1: 21 & 22)

`Sitting on David`s throne,` means the Lord has the authority over that position as with every position in God`s great kingdom.

"Far above all principality" is relating to when Jesus rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven far above all principality. Jesus returns to earth, and is King of Kings, Lord of Lord! He rules from Jerusalem during the thousand years,

Revelations 20:6...but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Revelations 7:15, "Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more... 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them...

Ezekiel 37:24, "And David (Jesus) my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd (Jesus); they shall also walk in my judgments.... 25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant wherein your fathers dwelt;....and my servant David (Jesus) shall be their prince for ever.

Acts 2:29, "Men and brethern, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day, 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne..."

Luke 1:32-33, "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David; 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end."

Revelation 7 is the time between the 6th and 7th Seal. The church is in Paradise where the alter is. The 144k are sealed on the earth about ready to enter the 6 Trumpets. They are sealed before the 7th Seal is opened. The church is in Paradise before the 7th Seal is opened.

You cannot place the 7th Seal before the 1st Seal. You cannot start the Trumpets until the 7th Seal is opened.

Christ comes to Jerusalem to set up the throne. The tabernacle or temple in Jerusalem. If Satan is allowed 42 months, Jesus does not co-reign with Satan. Jesus and the 144k are on mount Zion until Armageddon, then Christ returns to destroy the rest of Adam's flesh and blood. Christ remains in Jerusalem for the 1000 year reign.

Hi BT,

Yes words can be used differently in different settings. However we see how the Lord wanted the words `taken away` to be used by His use of them in the sentence before. One thought flows on to the other.

`taken away in the flood,` and `one will be taken`...... (Matt. 24: 37 - 41)

Marilyn.
Why use two different words ? ......two different meanings

Hi biblelesson,

Good to see lots of scriptures there.

1. Rev. 20: 6 Notice that those people came through the trib,. The Body of Christ does not. Also they are `priests,` and not kingpriests. We have two offices being in the hightest, while they have one as kings and priests are separate offices on earth.

2. Rev. 7: 15. Those people who came out of the great trib, are the `nations of the saved,` (Rev. 21: 24). The Body of Christ is NOT called the nations, but called out of Israel and called out of the nations.

3. Ez. 37: 24. Actually that man, David is human and has human sons. (Ez. 46: 16 - 18)

4. Acts 2: 29 & 30. Yes we agree that the Lord would have king David`s throne. (King David of old). The Lord rules over Israel however His seat of power and authority is not of the earth but from the Father. And the Father has set His Son on Mount Zion, which is in the highest. (Ps. 2: 6 & Heb. 12: 22 - 24)

5. Luke 1: 32 - 34. `The Lord God (Father) will give Him the throne of His father David.` And that is over Israel, but from the highest, Mount Zion. (Ps. 2: 6)

So none of those scriptures prove that the Lord will rule from His footstool, earth.

`Heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool.` (Isa. 66: 1)

The church comes down in the New Jerusalem. The church goes up at the 6th Seal.

Hi Tim,

So where does it say that the Church comes down in the New Jerusalem?

And where does it say we go up at the 6th seal?

Christ comes to Jerusalem to set up the throne. The tabernacle or temple in Jerusalem. If Satan is allowed 42 months, Jesus does not co-reign with Satan. Jesus and the 144k are on mount Zion until Armageddon, then Christ returns to destroy the rest of Adam's flesh and blood. Christ remains in Jerusalem for the 1000 year reign.

Hi Tim,

I agree that the Lord comes to Jerusalem to set up His rulership through Israel. God`s word tells us that the Lord appoints a man named David, (not OT David) and he is human and has sons. (Ex. 37: 24, 46: 16 - 18)

I also agree that the Lord will not co-reign with Satan.

Where do you read that the Lord destroys the rest of Adam`s flesh?

Where do you read that the Lord remains on earth during the 1000 years?
